Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Ashish Raichur
Greetings and thank you so much for joining us this week for our daily devotionals. It's always our joy to come to you and spend a few moments with you in God's word and prayer. This week, we're going to reflect on God's promises for financial provision. Now some of us may be in situations in life where everything is already taken care of and finances are not a matter that we think about day to day, there's abundance everywhere and surplus in all our accounts and that's a wonderful place to be. But we all realize that we don't get there overnight. There may be some of us who are in the early stages of our life's journey or maybe even later, further down in life's journey and for us finances are a challenge, just going from perhaps day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year can be a challenge. Regardless of what our place in life is, whether we are looking to God for our daily bread or whether we are well provided for already, the fact is all of us look to God as the source of our provision, that means God is the one who provides for us. God is the source of supply and provision in our lives and we always look to Him. This week, we just want to look at a few promises, of course, there are many scriptures that we could consider. We'll look at a few that assure us, that remind us that our God is always faithful to provide. We begin today by looking at Psalm chapter 23, a few verses from that psalm. Psalm chapter 23, verse 1, David said, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." God is the shepherd of my life. Just like how a shepherd takes care of his sheep to make sure he leads the sheep to the green pastures where it can be fed to the still waters, where it can have drink, to its resting place, just as a shepherd would take care of the sheep and massage it with oil and heal its wounds and take care of all the details of the sheep, David says, "God is my shepherd." God is so much more than a human shepherd, an earthly shepherd and he says, "Because God is my shepherd, I will not be in want." He closes out that psalm with this proclamation of victory that God prepares a table for me in the presence of my enemies. He anoints my head with oil and my cup overflows. That means God's provision and portion in my life is overflowing, it's in surplus, it's in abundance. And that's the assurance we have that the Lord is our shepherd, we will not be in want. He's going to bring us to this place where our cup overflows and surely goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our life. Let's believe that and journey into it.

Let's pray, Father, we thank you that you are our shepherd and therefore, you provide for us each and every day and you bring us into that place where our cups overflow. We thank you that you're faithful to do it, in Jesus' name, Amen.
