Greetings and thank for joining us today in our daily devotional. We are taking time this week to look at a few scriptures that reminds us of God’s promise to provide for our financial, material and earthly needs, our daily bread. In Mathew chapter 6, verses 31 to 33, Jesus said, ‘Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’ Jesus is addressing our day-to-day needs, our material needs, our physical needs- things we eat, drink and wear. He says, your Heavenly Father knows you need of these things. God is concerned about our practical, day to day, physical needs, He is interested in that. He is not saying, I will only bless you spiritually; physical things, sorry don’t come to me about it, no! Jesus said, our Heavenly Father knows we have need of these things, that means He cares about these things and knows about these things. Jesus assured us, if we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, if we put God first in our life, put the purposes of God first, the advancement of God’s rule on the earth, seek first to do what is right in the eyes of God, seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, Jesus said, all these things will be added to you, meaning your Heavenly Father is going to make sure that all your physical needs are met, addressed and provided for, that is His guarantee. The words of Jesus are true, words we can believe, trust, pray over and declare for our own lives, that all these things are being added into our lives. God will not take it away but He will bring it in, that’s the guarantee and assurance.
Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you know the things we have need of and we thank you that as we seek your kingdom and seek to do your righteousness, that all these things are added into our life. You bring them in, you make the provision, you bring the supply in, in abundance even as we seek you. So, we thank you and we are grateful, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
