Thank you for journeying with us through this week. We are here on Saturday, the last day of this week, as we bring these series of devotions to a close. This week, we have been mediating, thinking and learning about what to do when we receive a word of prophecy. We have touched on several different things, what we do with those prophetic words that have been spoken over our lives. Today, I just want to bring our attention to one final thought and that is we must prepare ourselves to walk in to those prophecies, to seeing those prophecies fulfilled. Many times, God speaks to us well in advance or what He is going to do in our lives and there is a purpose why God speaks to us in advance. There is a purpose why God speaks to us in advance. It is so that we could prepare ourselves to see that prophetic word come to pass. If God says, for example, let’s say, you are a young professional just got out of college or in college and somebody comes and gives you a word of prophecy saying, I’m going to bless you with a very fruitful business, make you very successful in business. That doesn’t mean you just sit at home and expect that word to be fulfilled. There is a responsibility that comes with that word. The implication is that you need to prepare yourself to be a successful business person and to see that word fulfilled. For instance, you may study, you may get into certain courses that is going to help you build a business, you may do an MBA, you may do some other things that God wants you to do, you may prepare yourself through your education, training, through gaining some experience or gaining some mentoring through people who have it done it before and prepare yourself to see that word fulfilled. Part of your preparation is gaining the skill, the knowledge, the wisdom, the experience that you need in order to step into it. Also, part of your preparation is positioning yourself, being at the right place at the right time. Think about this, many, many years early in David’ life, the prophet Samuel came and anointed him and prophetically telling David that one day he is going to be king. But as things unfolded, that word didn’t seem like it is going to be fulfilled. David was out in the wilderness, hiding in caves and wandering about like a homeless person. But a time came when king Saul died and David had to make a move and as you read the scriptures David prayed and asked, ‘God, should I get back into one of the cities of Israel?’ and God said, ‘yes.’ David says, ‘Lord where should I go?’ And God says, ‘go to Hebron.’ So, David makes a move from the wilderness back into one of the cities and as soon as he moves there, the tribe of Judah come in and they anoint him king over the tribe of Judah. That move was so important, he positioned himself in order to see the beginning of that prophetic word over his life to be fulfilled and then seven years later, the rest of Israel comes and says, we want you to be king. So, David positioned himself step by step and he stepped into seeing that prophetic word fulfilled. He became king over all Israel and ruled for another 33 years over the entire nation. Preparation is important and involves equipping and positioning. Equip and position yourself to see every word of prophecy fulfilled. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you speak to us by your Spirit. Help us to be open to prophecies. Help us to follow through to see prophetic words fulfilled, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
