Greetings! Thank you for giving us another opportunity to come your way today and spend a few moments in the word of God.
We are talking about mindset and how to develop or have a positive mindset based on the word of God. We have emphasized at the very beginning of this week that, having a positive mindset is very important for us personally, for the health of our own personal lives and of course, it's a blessing to others, to those around us, so that people around us can be lifted up and not pulled down. We've been talking about various aspects of a positive mindset and today I want to bring our attention to the fact that a positive mindset is a peaceful mindset, that means even in the most upsetting or disturbing of situations, you're able to maintain calm, you're able to maintain your composure. Now, we all will feel agitated, perturbed, disturbed by things around us it's normal, we're going to be find ourselves in the middle of a storm, we find ourselves, in situations where the waves are high and the winds are harsh and obviously, that affects everyone.
So, the challenge is in these kinds of situations, how can we maintain a peaceful mindset? The Bible says in Isaiah chapter 26 and verse 23, ‘thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you.’ That means this person's got a mindset where, on one hand, his mind is stayed on the Lord and therefore, he/she is in perfect peace. Situations around can be very difficult, harsh but you're walking with calm composure through that situation. That's very important, both for our own benefit and for the benefit of others that we have a peaceful mindset in the middle of a storm. For many reasons, we can then think through things calmly, we can interact with people in a calm way. Yes, the situation may be tense, but in the middle of those tense situations, you're maintaining peace, you're walking through calm and when you walk in peace through the storm, you're able to conquer the storm, you're able to advance in spite of the storm, you're able to come through the storm as you maintain a peaceful mindset. The key here is keeping your mind on the Lord and for us believers, that's a great blessing, a great advantage that we can keep the mind on the Lord and therefore have a peaceful mindset no matter what's happening around us. We don't have to get agitated and disturbed and upset, that may be an initial reaction, but we come back to a state of peace. Learn to have a peaceful mindset, it will bless you and those around you in Jesus’s name.
Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that we can have perfect peace as we keep our mind on you. Help us to do that in every situation in, Jesus’s name. Amen.
