Greetings and we count it a joy to be able to come to you once again today, to spend few moments in God’s word, as we reflect on the Lord Jesus as the prince of peace. In John chapter 16, verse 33, the Lord Jesus said, ‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.’ We want to focus in on what the Lord Jesus said in this verse when He said, ‘in me, you will have peace’. So, this peace that the Lord Jesus brings into our lives, it is in Him, it is in the person. Many times, we think incorrectly that peace maybe in some experience, in some substance, in some achievement, in some affiliation etc., but Jesus said, in the world, that means in all these different things that are given to us by the world, the end result is only tribulation. In the world, there will be tribulation but He said, in me, you will have peace. For us to experience the God kind of peace, the peace which the prince of peace gives to us, which Jesus gives to us, we need to be very clear that it is in the person of Jesus Christ Himself. So, as we seek to understand and live in this perfect peace that Jesus brings, we need to pursue the person. When there are moments when we think that we need to be in a place of peace, where do I go? Go to the person, go to the Lord Jesus and say, Lord, I need your peace. There are things that are attempting to disturb/ disrupt the perfect peace that is coming from you and in this moment, the place that I am going to look for perfect peace is in the person, not in anything/ anyone else, but in the person of Jesus. Remember Jesus said, in me, you will have peace. Any time you feel your peace disturbed and want to be in a place of peace, look to the person, Jesus Christ, He is the prince of peace and in Him, we will find peace. We are going to learn how to do that. Let’s pray, Lord, we ask that each time we feel disturbed, troubled or afraid, help us put our eyes on you knowing that in you we will find peace because you are the prince of peace. May the peace that you give flood our hearts and minds, we pray this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
