Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We hope that these times spent in our daily devotional are a blessing to you. Today, we are looking at Philemon verse 6 which talks about how we need to acknowledge every good thing which is in us in Christ Jesus. What are you acknowledging today? Are you acknowledging the limitation, weakness, addiction or are we acknowledging the good thing that we have in Christ Jesus. As new creations in Christ Jesus, we are called to acknowledge every good thing. Why are we called to do that? Because when we acknowledge every good thing that is in us in Christ Jesus, the way we live are life changes. In fact, this very verse says that the sharing of your faith may become effective which means the communication of our faith through our words and life, everything becomes more effective, it becomes the way it should be, it becomes the way it will bear fruit, it becomes effective when we acknowledge. So, we are exhorted to acknowledge. What are somethings that we can acknowledge today? Today, we see that our new creation life is something we need to acknowledge. 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 17 says, ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.’ We have become new creations in Christ Jesus. We need to say that I’m no more an old creation, I’m no more the same, old person but I am a new creation because I have received Jesus into my heart and life and something has changed. The old has been taken away, it is not the old person who was renovated and repaired, no, something absolutely new which didn’t exist before has come into existence and that is what the word new creation means. It means ‘kainos’ which means something better, not exist before has come into existence and all the old things have passed away. The old life with its sin and regrets and pain and all that, old things have passed away. So, I need to acknowledge this. Well, Romans chapter 6, verse 6 says, ‘knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.’ So, as new creations, something has happened, the old ‘me’ was crucified with Christ, was nailed to the cross along with Christ, that the body of sin might be done away with. That is something very profound because what was generating sin, causing us to live a life of sin, that has been done away with. Satan would do everything to convince us that we are still having that old generator called the sin nature thriving in us, but the scripture says that the body of sin, what was causing us to live a life of sin and be trapped in sin, that has been done away with. The picture that we have is that the door is open, walk free. We need to acknowledge this that we are new creations, that the old man was crucified, the body of sin is done away with. When we do that, the living of our life, the sharing of our faith will become effective in Christ Jesus. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that we are new creations. We thank you that we didn’t earn it or do it by ourselves by our own effort, there was no self-help that was involved in this but purely the work of your grace and you made this possible in our lives. We thank you that we are new creations, old things have been taken away and behold, all things have been made new. We acknowledge this today even as you have called us to live a life of significance and live a life that is overcoming, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
