Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally, our daily devotion, the daily devotion of All People’s church. Today, we are looking at some of the things that has happened to us because of who we are in Christ Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. What is required of us is to acknowledge all the good things, not just one but everything that has happened to us and all that we have become and all the good things that we have in us because of Christ Jesus. Many times, all the limitations are the ones that come to our mind, these are something’s I can’t do, these are something’s that hold me back, these are something’s that are my weaknesses. But the bible invites us to turn those things around and to look at those good things that have happened to us, that are in us because of the Lord Jesus and the fact that we are in Christ. Philemon verse 6 says, ‘that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.’ What are these good things? Here is one of them, Ephesians chapter 1, verse 11 says, ‘In Him also we have obtained an inheritance.’ You are I are inheritors/ heirs of God and co- heirs with Christ. We have obtained an inheritance from God. Now, if we look at it, what are these inheritances? What are these things that we have inherited? First thing that we see is Galatians chapter 3, verse 26, ‘For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.’ Sons and daughters or children of God through faith in Christ Jesus, that is something that is our inheritance. We are in the family of God, we are not orphans, we are not no body’s but we are in the family of God Himself and Christ has elevated us to that place of being called His children. What an awesome privilege! Secondly, it says in Romans chapter 8, verse 17, ‘and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.’ We are co- heirs with Christ which means that whatever that the Lord Jesus is an heir of, whatever He receives because of His communion with the Father, we are in a position to receive the very same thing, the life of God, the nature and love of God, we are in that position to receive that in our own lives and this is also an awesome privilege. That is why scriptures says that we are called to be partakers of the divine nature. We are not divine, by no means, but we are called to be partakers of that divine nature and that is our inheritance. That is an eye opener that changes the way we look at things, look at God and look at ourselves and that changes our perspective every day because we have an inheritance in Christ Jesus. Thirdly, Romans chapter 8, verse 39 says, after listing down a whole lot of things it says, ‘we are more than conquerors and nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.’ Praise God, we have an inheritance in Christ and we need to recognize, admit and receive this truth in our lives. As we do that, we will see change and transformation. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that we are co-heirs with Christ. We thank you for the inheritance that we have in Christ Jesus. Thank you for this awesome privilege that is available for us because of your grace. We pray that our eyes will be opened to see this, our hearts will be opened to receive this and even as we do so, may our walk with you change completely, may it be transformed that we would walk in power and truth, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
