Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings, and we are grateful for another day, another opportunity to be together and spend a few moments with God in prayer. As we continue examining Jesus’s teaching on faith, outlining some of the key things Jesus spoke about faith, I want to bring our attention today to this element of what Jesus taught on faith. This might be counter intuitive, it might be opposed to some of our natural thinking, what Jesus taught us is that when things go from bad to worse, we must keep believing, we must continue to believe.

One situation where Jesus taught this is in Mark chapter 5 and verses 35-36, speaking of Jairus, He says, ‘While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”’ In this given situation, Jairus, the ruler/ leader of the synagogue had come to Jesus and requested Him to come to his house because his daughter was very sick, almost about to die, Jesus said, I will come. On the way to his house, news comes saying, do not trouble Jesus, your daughter is dead, meaning matter is over, daughter is dead. At that moment, without even a second thought, Jesus says this, don’t be afraid, only believe; believe what? Daughter is dead, what do I still believe? What am I supposed to do? What did Jesus say? Don’t be afraid, only believe. Again, you ask the question, what do I believe? Daughter is dead, the implication of what Jesus is implying is continue believing for the health, wellbeing of your daughter, because that is what he came for in the first place, he came for his daughter to be well. Things have gone from bad to worse, in fact they have gone into a situation where the matter is over, nothing more to believe, at least when she as somewhat alive, there could be some hope, but now it is gone. But Jesus is saying, don’t be afraid, still believe in what you originally want, which is in this particular case, daughter being in good health. We know the rest of the situations and the story; Jesus raised that girl up from the dead. God works in the same way today, faith in God works the same way today as it did in Bible times. Bible faith works the same way today as it did in those days. When things get from bad to worse, God tells us, keep believing that the good you originally wanted will still happen, do not be afraid, only believe. Keep believing, let’s pray, Lord we ask, that you will help us learn how to keep believing no matter what, show us how to do it, enable us to do it, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
