Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. Today, we will be talking about obeying God’s word. John chapter 14, verse 15, ‘If you love Me, keep My commandments.’ Jesus is speaking plainly here. Obeying God’s word is a person’s genuine faith and love for God, signifying a commitment to live according to His instructions, demonstrating this through his actions and aligning his life to God’s will. God’s blessings and guidance in daily life often see as a foundation for a righteous life. Obedience is the hallmark of our salvation. Although we are saved through grace through the redemptive work of the cross and the blood of Jesus, it is our obedience that sets us apart as authentic children of God. Obedience is our way of showing God that we love Him and it is through obedience that God recognizes us and enables us to enjoy His love and His presence. Thus, our primary motive for obedience must be to show God that we love Him. This in turn will allow God to reveal Himself more and more to us and activates God’s power in our life. Each one of us wants to be successful at what we do. To prove some of the best-selling books in the modern-day world talk about success, interestingly, God in His word gives us simple secrets for success which is reading God’s word and obeying it. God has a plan for each and everyone of us, plans to prosper us and give us a future. God’s will for our life is that we must be successful. Success is not what the world defines success as but as God defines it. It means accomplishing that which He created us to fulfill. God never created us to fail or just to be average, God created us to be excellent. We need to align our will to God’s will so that God’s plan can be manifested in our lives. Deuteronomy chapter 28 outlines the blessings of God that God promised if we obey Him. Notice the blessings will come if we fully obey God’s word. In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was tired and stressed, the human side of Him wanted to give up. He even prayed, Lord, if it is your will, let this cup pass by, but He ended that with not my will but your will. Sometimes, even when we know that the things God expects of us and acting on them will not be easy, many times obedience means sacrifice. Sometimes obedience can be painful, sometimes it can mean stretching ourselves out of our comfort zone. Despite our main focus of obedience should be to show that we love God, we should always remember that there is a great reward for obedience. Be willing to do the harder things. The rewards of obedience are clear, you will be blessed wherever you go, your children will be blessed, God will protect you and grant you abundant prosperity, everything you set your hand on will be successful, the Lord will help you stand up. For us to be able to fully obey, we must read His word every day and ask the Holy Spirit to empower us. Let’s pray, Father, we want to thank you for your Holy Spirit that teaches us and reminds us of the truth of your word. We pray that we will be able to apply all of this in our lives and use us for your glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
