Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings once again and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity to minister to you through God’s word. This week, we are talking about mentorship. Today, we will talk about Moses and Joshua moving past jealousy. Numbers chapter 11, verses 28 and 29, ‘So Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, one of his choice men, answered and said, “Moses my lord, forbid them!” Then Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!”’ This is a wonderful story of mentorship. Joshua had been serving alongside Moses as an apprentice. At this point, Moses is grooming Joshua to lead God’s people but he is still young and sometimes a bit clueless. Joshua shows immaturity in wanting his mentor to be the only one who offers spiritual leadership. So, Joshua complains about two elders who were prophesying. When he learnt of what Eldad and Medad prophesied, Joshua hoped to support Moses. His first concern was Moses’s ministry and fear that this unusual display of the prophetic or the work of the Spirit had in some way undermined Moses’s leadership. Perhaps, Eldad and Medad would become rivals to Moses. Many times, jealousy separates us from the call of God in our lives. Joshua wanted Moses to stop them from prophesying but Moses helps Joshua see the bigger picture. He points Joshua away from self-interest and back to God. God is the giver of gifts and not us. It is not our place to question the giver or even to desire the gifts of others but rather to use those gifts for His service. Jealousy limits our focus to ourselves and our desires. Moses instead mentored Joshua to see the wider view of God’s blessing. We should rejoice that God empowers others to work in His Kingdom. When Moses ascended Mount Sinai, young Joshua was at his side. Joshua witnessed first-hand the power and glory of God at Sinai. He marveled at Moses’s shining face. Moses poured into his successor affirmation, respect and love. When it was time to lead Israel across the Jordan into the promised land, Joshua listened to God and obeyed. Moses had confidence in Joshua, so, Israel trusted Joshua’s leadership when it came time to cross the river Jordan. If we are pursuing our faith for our own benefit, our heart is in the wrong place. Celebrate the gifts God has given you and do not be jealous about the gifting of others that God has placed on them. May our desire be that everyone experience the work of the Holy Spriit in each of our lives, that we will celebrate, lift up, edify, build each other up knowing the bigger picture is that we are building God’s kingdom. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for teaching us today to move past things of the flesh, to move past jealousy. We pray that as your children, we will walk with unity, with oneness, that we will lift up one another, honor, respect, care and love one another. We are all part of one body and we are building your kingdom here. Help us to see the bigger picture, we thank you for enabling us to do this, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
