Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Welcome once again friends, another very exciting meditation for today about praise. I want to talk about Paul and Silas from the book of Acts. Let's first read the scripture, ‘But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.’ So, in this incident we know that Paul chose to be led by the Holy Spirit, he wanted to enter a particular territory to do ministry, but the Spirit of God led him to Macedonia and when he comes to Macedonia, he does see fruit in his ministry, people listen to what he has to preach about the Lord Jesus. But another thing takes place and which is, he is imprisoned for a deliverance that he performs and he together with his teammate Silas, they are in a prison. Now just think together with me under these circumstances, both Paul and Silas could have sat there in the prison and questioned God and said God, we wanted to go elsewhere, but you led us to Macedonia. They could have sat there and question and said God, we did your work, but here we are imprisoned. But what do we see them doing? We see both of them, in the midnight, scripture says in very, very difficult circumstances, both of them chose to worship the Lord, to praise the Lord and how did they praise the Lord? They were singing hymns to God loudly; they were singing their praises to God loudly and even the prisoners were listening to them. We know what happened, there was an earthquake and the shackles came off of Paul and Silas and not just them but all the other prisoners. So, church, this is what I want to share with us today. In the midst of very dark situations like Paul and Silas, we can either choose to question God which is a sign of our lack of faith in Him or we can make a choice, as we've been saying praise is a choice and say God, yes, it's difficult, yes, we do not understand but we choose to praise you. Paul and Silas here praised the Lord and God's deliverance came about not just for them, but for everyone around them. So, friends as we praise the Lord, this is what God will do for you, the shackles will come off, the things that we are bound with, we will see them breaking off, not just in our lives but in the lives of our family members, in the lives of those that we are ministering to. Make praise a lifestyle, whether it's a good day in our emotions or it's a difficult day. Every day at all times, let us bless the Lord, let us praise the Lord. Again, just a note here, we're not asking people to deny their circumstances, no facts are facts but we can still make a decision to praise the Lord for who He is. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, Lord, you are worthy at all times. God, we pray that Lord, even in the difficult situations that you will enable us to praise you and God thank you for the power of praise that shackles will break off of us and today, that's what I pray for all those who are listening, let the chains of sin be broken, let roots be removed from people's lives and Father, we give you the glory for what you have done, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
