Greetings and thank you for joining us today in our daily devotional. This week, we're talking about overcoming guilt and we emphasize the fact that the blood of Jesus Christ has cleansed us, also that God has forgotten, He's not reminding you every day what you've done and the third important truth that we must embrace is that God has made us righteous. Now this might shock our minds but the Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 21, ‘Him who knew no sin He became sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.’ What has God done? In Christ, He's made us the righteousness of God. The best way I can try to communicate that is the righteousness that God has, He's taken that and He's put it on us, the absolute perfection, the absolute sinlessness, the absolute righteousness that God Himself has, He's put it on us, He's given it to us, He's made us that, He's clothed us with righteousness. It really staggers our mind to think about it but you are as a believer, in Christ, you are the righteousness of God, the righteousness of God is given to you, it's upon you, He's clothed you. This might sound sacrilegious but this is just stating what the Bible says, God has made you as righteous as Himself not because we earned it or did anything for it but because He simply took His righteousness and put it on you, put it on me. That means when we come to God, what's on Him is on us, He gave it to us, that's what gives us the ability to stand in His presence. So, in your mind, instead of thinking of yourself as some guilty, dirty, filthy, unworthy sinner, think of yourself as somebody who has been made the righteousness of God. This does not make us arrogant, it makes us thankful, it makes us grateful, it makes us confident to come before God and say God, you've made me fit to stand in your presence. I am the righteousness of God, acknowledge that, I am the righteousness of God. God has made me to be the righteousness of God in Christ, what's on Him is on us. Acknowledge that! Let's pray, Father, we thank you that there is no condemnation toward us, those of us who are in Christ that we've been made righteous, therefore, we are free from all guilt, shame and condemnation. Help us to embrace this truth and see ourselves that way, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
