Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally. We hope you are having a good day and today, we are going to be mediating on God’s word, learning something and applying that in our lives. We are going to take sometime to look at Romans chapter 12, verse 9 onwards, where Paul writes certain simple instructions to the believers of the Lord Jesus. He writes some simple, basic instructions which we can consider to be the ‘to-do’ list of the Christian. Here is something for your ‘to-do’ list today. Let’s look at Romans chapter 12, verse 9, it reads like this, ‘Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.’ Today’s ‘to-do’ list is this, let your love be without hypocrisy, abhor what is evil and cling to what is good. Let’s look at the first part, let love be without hypocrisy. This statement just means that there can be love with hypocrisy, there can be insincere expression of love, there can be a love that is expressed with pretense. So, Paul is writing and saying, let your expression/ act/ work of love, let it be without pretense, let it be without insincerity or in other words, let it be without hypocrisy. We know that God kind of love is an unconditional, in spite of love. If we would emulate that in our lives, if we would express that in our lives, that would be the ideal thing because the earthly love is a conditional love, it is based on our performance and something we can bring or give into a person’s life, it is because of love. God is calling us to follow Him and receive His love which is agape, which is unconditional love. In fact, Romans chapter 5, says the love of God has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We have become recipients of the agape/ the love of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are called to express that without hypocrisy. A way by which we can be expressing insincere love is when our love is not matched or words of expression of love is not backed up with work or action. 1 John chapter 3, verse 18 says, ‘My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.’ He is exhorting the believer to not love just in word or tongue, let it just not be mere words that you speak and say, yes, that you care for and love someone but let it be backed up with action, that is sincere love and the love without pretense, let it be backed up in deed and truth. The second thing that we see here is to abhor what is evil, which means to detest and depart. The third thing that we see here is we are called to cling on to what is good, to hold tightly to what is good, to have a firm grip on things that are good so that we can actually be imitators of Christ. Let’s pray today for these three things to be in our lives. Let this be our ‘to do’ list. Father, we thank you for this exhortation for our love to be without hypocrisy, that we would cling to what is good and that we would abhor evil, that we would detest and depart from evil. We pray that this will be part of our doing today, that we will remember even as we go through this day, that it will be part of today. We give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
