Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Paul Emmanuel
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to come your way, minister God's word and take a few moments in prayer. This week, we had been talking about various aspects of life groups and we're really wrapping up this week talking about serving together. 1 Peter chapter 4 and verse 10, ‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various form.’ Serving is the central part of Christian life. But there is something uniquely powerful about serving together. When individual ideas and strategies come together with a shared purpose, it multiplies impact and their unity and a testimony of God's love is shown in actions. Serving as a group shifts the focus from an individual to a group community. When a group serves together, different ideas come together and different perspectives are brought in. One person may lead, the others may organize, while another may encourage, while another may pray or serve in small ways. Serving together also deepens our relationships. Working alongside one another creates shared experiences. A sense of trust and connection is built and relationships are stronger. Whether it's helping someone in need or in community, the initiative of serving is a heart attitude. At its heart, together we create a partnership in missions. Jesus sent out His disciples two by two in Mark chapter 6, showing that ministry is not a one man's work. Whether it is organizing a church community outreach, helping a family in need or serving or volunteering in church, serving one another will enable us to build God's kingdom more effectively. When men and women together in ministry serve shoulder to shoulder, whether it's in the workplace, whether it's in the neighborhood, or in church responsibilities, they apply biblical principles in real-life contexts. At times, serving may feel inconvenient. It requires sacrifice, there's coordinating of schedules, stepping out of your comfort zone, or giving personal time can be challenging. Yet, it is often in these moments that growth happens. Serving stretches your faith, shifts your perspectives and aligns your heart closely to God's compassion. It's important to remember that the goal of serving is not recognition but it's faithfulness. When you serve with the right heart, even small acts become significant. God sees every effort. As His word says, man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at our hearts. Ultimately, serving together is an expression of unity and purpose. It reminds us that we're not just a group, or we're not just a member in a group, but we are a community on a mission. As we serve together, let our lives make a difference, not only for our community, not only in our churches, but also for our city, our nation and the nations. Let's pray, Father, we just thank you for your word and the encouragement of your word. We pray that even as we serve in the workplace or in our church communities, that we will serve with the right heart attitudes. And we know that when we serve you, you are a God who blesses us. We thank you for the teaching of this week, we pray, God, that in everything that we do, your name will be glorified, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
