Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah
Welcome to Living Supernaturally, our daily devotion of All People's Church. We've been studying about lie versus truth. Sometimes, in life, we accept lies as the truth and we see that life isn’t any better because truth has the capacity to lead us further on into truth and to set us free. Today, we are going to look at some lies that we could be believing in the area of our work and maybe if you’re a student, in the very area of our studies. The lie number one that we could believe is that our efforts are pointless and that we will never ever succeed. The truth is this from scripture, Proverbs chapter 16, verse 3, it says, ‘Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.’ If you’re believing the lie that no matter what effort you put in, you will always fail, never succeed and go beyond that ceiling of success or limit that is there. Scripture has something else to say- Joshua chapter 1, verse 8, ‘This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.’ Success is something that God wants for us. Prosperity which means thriving and flourishing, not juts having an abundance of money, prosperity is something the Lord wants to have for us and He is giving us the key as He gave to Joshua in these instructions. It has to do with the word of God, that it is part of our speaking, thinking, meditation as the bible calls it (day and night) and part of our doing, that we diligently do and obey the instructions- the values and standards of God’s word. It says, then you will make your way prosperous and have good success. Lie number two we could believe about our work, education and studies could be this that God doesn’t care about my job or education. So, what is the point? I can do what I want, however I want I can live. The truth is this, in Colossians chapter 3, verse 23, ‘And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.’ Sometimes, we get disappointed because we have worked hard and not seen the progress or recognition that comes from men. But scripture says, do it heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men. 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verses 9 and 10, ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.’ This is the privilege of every believer that even as we do as unto the lord, our work or our studies, the Lord will reveal by His Spirit the things that He has for us. God does care, He is interested in our lives, in what we do with our hands and the work of our hands and our studies.

Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that you are so much a part of our lives, you care for us and love us. We commit our lives into your mighty hands. If we have entertained/ accepted these kinds of lies, Spirit of God, we thank you that you’re exposing these lies. We want to embrace these truths from your word that you want our lives to be prosperous; you have given us the keys for success and prosperity. Help us to diligently do it. You do care about our success, we thank you, we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
