Welcome once again to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotional of All People’s church. We hope you’re having a great day. We are going to thank God for the opportunity to look into God’s word and study it. We have been looking at this topic of lie versus the truth. If we accept a lie, our life is going to be directed by that lie- choices, actions, imaginations etc. Lies lead us not into freedom but into bondage. Therefore, we need the truth of God that sets us free and leads us onto liberty because the Lord very clearly says that you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. Today, we are going to look at this lie versus truth with regards to physical health and healing. The lie that we could believe is that God doesn’t heal anymore. He used to, that’s what the bible says but now with advances in science and medical information/ practices, God doesn’t heal anymore. Well, the truth is this in Hebrews chapter 13, verse 8 says, ‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.’ This means when the Lord walked on the earth, He ministered in signs, wonders, miracles and healings and He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever. So that aspect/ character/ nature of Jesus is never going to change. We cannot change it, that is His nature. So, we might as well believe the truth that yes, Jesus heals today. Mark chapter 16, verses 17 and 18, the Lord Jesus says, ‘And these signs will follow those who believe: He talks about a lot of supernatural things like, casting out demons; speaking with new tongues; taking up serpents; drinking anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; He also goes on to say that they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.’ We see that as part of the great commission; this ministry of healing and deliverance is very much there. The other lie that we could believe is ‘I’m sick because God is punishing me.’ The truth is this, the God’s word says in Psalm chapter 103, verse 3, ‘Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.’ On the contrary, He is not punishing you, but He has borne the punishment for our sins upon Himself. Isaiah chapter 53, verses 4 and 5, ‘He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; … And by His stripes we are healed.’ Colossians chapter 2 says the same thing that He has forgiven us of all trespasses and He has wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us and He has taken it out of the way having nailed it to the cross. Let’s believe this truth today and let’s pray,
Father, we thank you that you are for us and not against us. We thank you that you are the same Jesus yesterday, today and forever. Your power has not diminished, your promises have not changed, your very nature and character is to bring about change in or bodies and minds, where there is sickness, you bring in healing. Even today, we extend our faith and say, yes, let there be healing released in our bodies and minds, in the lives of people we know, let healing be released in the name of Jesus. Let your kingdom come and let your will be done, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
