Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We have been studying the word of God and having a great time doing that. We study the word of God to apply it in our lives and the truth changes us from the inside out, truly elevates and lifts up our walk to live life on a higher plane. We have been studying about this aspect of lie and truth, how we could be misled, maybe believing some lie about ourselves, our situation, our bodies, our minds etc. and conducting our lives according to that lie. However, when we look into the word of God, the word of God is truth. The Lord Jesus Himself says, ‘thy word is truth.’ So, we look into the word of God and the truth of God’s word exposes the lies. Today, we are going to look at some lies we could be believing in the area of inner wholeness. Lie number one could be you will never be emotionally whole again. Maybe you went through some very difficult and traumatic time and it hurt us very deeply and wounded us, the lie we could believe is that we will never be emotionally whole again. The truth is this, Psalm chapter 147, verse 3, it says, ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.’ It is referring to the Lord who heals the brokenhearted. He is talking about some deep things we might have gone through and we are affected because of it emotionally; He heals the brokenhearted. 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, ever 23, it talks about the will of God for our inner wholeness, it says, ‘Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.’ This is Paul writing to the Thessalonian church and he is saying, may the Lord sanctify you, preserve you and may your whole spirit, soul and body, he is talking about the inner man- soul (mind, will, emotions, intellect) and may it be preserved blameless, may it be protected from injury and healed till the coming of the Lord Jesus. That is the will of God for us, that our emotions/ inner wholeness is God’s will for us. The other lie we could believe is that our trauma that we went through defines us. Maybe it was some kind of an abuse (physically, emotionally), a season of abuse, a difficult time being in it, even though the abuse is not there anymore, the trauma is not there anymore, it is like a prison that keeps us in that place of pain. John chapter 8, verse 32, ‘you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’ Isaiah chapter 61, verses 1 to 3, it talks about how the Lord Jesus referred to this and the Messiah’ ministry, ‘…He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, … To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.’
Let us pray, Father, we thank you that this is your will, plan and purpose- our healing. Emotionally, you want us to thrive and flourish. May our spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of the Lord. We thank you that you are the balm of Gilead and heal the brokenhearted and today, we pray that you would heal, bring about wholeness - emotionally that we will be strong and set free from all kinds of trauma. Let us not be bound by any prison doors because we have you as our Lord, Savior and redeemer. We thank you; we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
