Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and thank you for this opportunity to come to you today and spend a few minutes in the word and prayer. This week, we have been talking about step lower- get higher, the bible way to see God lift you up in life. What did God say we should do? Position ourselves so He can lift us up. Very simply put, we step lower, God lifts us up higher. How do we do it? What is involved? We are looking at the example of Jesus in Philippians chapter 2, where the apostle Paul says in verse 5, ‘Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (have the same attitudes/ mindset/ thought process/ thinking pattern as Jesus), who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation.’ So, that is the second thing we are going to look at. Yesterday, we saw that He let go of His position, but here we see something else, He made Himself of no reputation, He let go of that. He let go of His status/ reputation/ His name and what did God do? He gave Him a name that is above every other name. So, when He let go of His reputation and stepped lower, Father lifted Him up and gave Him a name that has the greatest reputation ever. Here is a key, do not hold onto status, don’t worry about your reputation. Remember there is a difference between reputation and testimony. Testimony is important, an outcome of a life lived well. We need to have a good report before God and man, for the living right. Reputation, fame, influence, power, these are things that people give to us or we gain over people, but live separate from that. Don’t live to build a reputation for yourself. Have a good testimony, you are not pursuing a reputation, you are not pursuing a platform, fame, or living for that. Separate yourself, let go of status, recognition and accolades of man. Step lower and therefore you can go as low as possible because you are not worried about reputation. When you give up reputation what does the Father do? He gives you honor. Reputation can go away, honor nobody can take from you. The honor that comes from God, nobody can tear down. The honor that comes from heaven, nobody can malign because it is from God, it is powerful and that is what happened to Jesus. He let go of His reputation and He received a name that is of greatest reputation. Let’s pray, Father, we ask that you will give us the same mind that Jesus had, that we will take on the attitude of Christ, that we will learn to live separate from reputation and seek the honor that comes from you, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
