Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for this wonderful opportunity to minister God's word and to spend these few moments in prayer. Today, we'll be talking about hidden treasures. Proverbs chapter 2 verse 3 through 5, ‘Yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.’ Throughout scriptures, God speaks about treasures, not just merely earthly riches, but spiritual treasures that carry eternal value. Many people spend our lives chasing visible things, wealth, success, recognition, positions, yet Jesus teaches us that the greatest treasures are often hidden. The kingdom of God contains treasures that cannot be purchased with money. Salvation, wisdom, knowledge, God's presence, peace, eternal life, these treasures are hidden from casual seekers, but revealed to those who pursue God intentionally. In every stage of life, we learn to ask questions and seek understanding in order to be successful. In school, we ask questions when we don't understand. At work, we gain experience and learn to do our jobs well. In our own home, we figure out things that we have to get done. Maybe that's why Proverbs includes a lot of phrases like the ones we are reading today. We are called to actively search for insight and wisdom from God so that we can know God. Jesus encouraged us in a similar way when He spoke about the parable. He said the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field. When a man found it, he hid it again and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Smartphones put remarkable treasures on our fingertips. We can use these devices to make phone calls, download images, send photos, appointments on calendars, download pictures and videos on the internet and also access large amounts of music. With the addition of countless apps, the treasures on smartphones have multiplied a thousandfold. But scripture urges us to make the knowledge of God the most important knowledge that we can gain. While many crowds followed Jesus casually, the disciples stayed close and asked deeper questions. Because they pursued understanding, Jesus revealed the mysteries of the kingdom to them. Spiritual depth grows to those who seek God sincerely. Jesus is not asking us to lose life meaninglessly, He's inviting us to gain infinitely greater than what we think we can have. By the wisdom of God, we have greater wisdom, greater insight to do our tasks here on earth with a kingdom focus. Knowledge has to do with understanding a subject. Jesus knows the Father and the Creator intimately. When scientists are beginning to scratch the surface of all the wonders of the universe, you and I can stand amazed at the knowledge and the wisdom of God. What a lifelong task He has given us to discover all the treasures hidden in Christ Jesus. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for your word that is so beautiful that you said you have hidden treasures for us. And you're not the God who is hiding it from us, but you want to reveal it to us and through us through your word and through your Spirit. We pray that we will sincerely seek more of you, that these hidden truths may become a part of our lives, we thank you and praise you, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Each day's devotional is a short five minute encouragement from God's Word. God's Word is food to your inner person. Jesus taught us that we do not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God. The Word of God will build you up spiritually. God's Word is God's power. It is alive and powerful bringing about transformation, freedom, healing, deliverance, causing miracles and releasing strength. His Word is our daily bread. His Word is a light to our path. His Word is sweeter than honey. He lovingly corrects us through His Word. He instructs, teaches, enlightens, guides, directs, and inspires faith through His Word. His Words are Spirit and life.
