Knowledge - Being a student (Daily Devotional)

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this time to come your way, minister God's word and spend a few moments in prayer. This week, we've been talking about different aspects of the knowledge of God and we'll wrap up this week by talking about being a student of the word. 2 Timothy chapter 2 and verse 15, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." Being a student is more than just attending classes, writing exams, or earning degrees, it is a season of learning, growth, discipline, and preparation. So, whether you're in school, college, in ministry, or in life itself, the attitude of a servant shapes the future. The Bible highly values learning and wisdom. Proverbs chapter 9, verse 9, "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will still be wiser. Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning." A godly student does not only pursue academic success, but also grows in character, wisdom, humility, and the knowledge of God. In the first two decades of life, most people are students. The instructions we receive during that time provides building blocks that we need for a productive life. As believers in Christ, we are also students. We need to learn God's word, grow in the grace and the knowledge of our savior, we need to absorb God's word constantly and continuously in our lives in order to live a transformed life by the power of the Spirit who works in us, who teaches us the truth of the wisdom of God. Now, on a daily basis, we need to walk in step with the Lord and the Spirit. Growing to know God and to share His love with others everywhere. One of the greatest qualities of a good student is humility. Daniel was taken into Babylon as a young man, yet he distinguished himself through wisdom, discipline, and excellence. Daniel balanced both spiritual devotion and intellectual excellence. A teachable person understands knowledge requires discipline. Success does not come merely by talent; it comes through consistency and discipline. Education without character can be dangerous. God desires students to grow not just intellectually, but spiritually and morally. Joseph learned leadership, wisdom, and administration even through difficult circumstances. His character shaped him and prepared him for influence. God often develops students inwardly before elevating them outwardly. Rhere's a tale of a man who was on a stroll and hears a voice saying, "Gather some pebbles." Though he sees no one, the voice persists. "Gather some pebbles and put them in your pocket, and tomorrow you will be both glad and sorry." Intrigued, the man thinks, "Why not?" So, he picks up a few pebbles and puts them in his pocket. The next day he discovers those pebbles have been transformed into diamonds. Then he feels gladness for taking some, yet sorry for not taking more. Similarly, our study of God's word may not reveal the benefits right away. Yet, over time, the nuggets of the truth and the wisdom of God begin to reveal valuable treasures, blessing our lives in countless ways. Students are constantly influenced by friends, social media, and culture. What fills your mind eventually shapes your life. A wise student, on the other hand, chooses healthy influences with truth and wisdom. God uses learnings to shape us, to build wisdom, character, discipline, and purpose. So, you and I must never lose a teachable heart. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for this entire week and all that we have learned on the knowledge of God and even as we continue the journey in life and whatever season and whatever you have put us in, we pray that we will pursue to grow in the knowledge of God, not just superficial knowledge, but also to know you, that there be a deeper revelation in our hearts, to walk in integrity and honesty, and to walk as your children, we thank you and we praise you, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
