Knowing God’s Purpose (Daily Devotional)

Hello everyone, nice to be talking about the subject of planning. Today, we will consider the fact that it is possible to know God’s plan for us. Let’s read from 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verses 9 and 10, it says, ‘But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.’ We see here that even though the plans of God are so amazing and awesome that it is hard for our finite minds to grasp the great thoughts that God has for us, we have the help of the Holy Spirit. Though we cannot perceive in our own strength and ability, we have the aid of the Holy Spirit and with the Holy Spirit, His leading, guidance and Him revealing to us what is in the heart of God for us, it is possible for us to know those things so that we can plan towards it. This is so helpful friends that we have the Holy Spirit bringing in revelation into our hearts and so if there are things that God has assigned to us, we could wait upon Him, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show us what exactly God would want us to do and in accordance to what the Spirit of God reveals to us, we can know the direction in which we need to be heading. Let’s also look at another scripture, Ephesians chapter 5, verse 17, ‘Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.’ This is Paul writing to the Ephesians church and notice he says, understand what the will of the Lord is. Unless we could understand, he would never write that. There is the possibility for us to understand what God wants for us. This knowledge will come as we seek Him. I just want to encourage us, we don’t have to go through life being so clueless, we can seek after the plans and purposes of God for us. It is true that there are some revelations that come quite quick whereas the others take time, nonetheless, God is a God who can reveal and will reveal everything that we need to know and so let’s seek Him and plan in accordance to what He reveals to us. Let’s pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you love to reveal to us the thigs that are on your heart. We pray for those of us who maybe finding ourselves in a very difficult place and wondering what we should do, Holy Spirit, bring your revelation, guidance and direction and lead us into all that you want for us, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
