Greetings, thank you for being with us throughout this Christmas week, where we've taken time to do something different from a regular set of Christmas messages. We've taken time to look at Jesus as our role model. The first man, Adam, whom God created, sadly sinned and fell short of the glory of God and didn't live by the standards that God would have had him to. God sent the second man, the Lord Jesus, the Lord from heaven. So, God sent Jesus to be our role model, somebody that we grow into and pattern ourselves after. We've been looking at various aspects of His earthly life, highlighting them and saying, ‘Let us grow into that to be like Him.’ Today, as we close off this week, we want to talk about Jesus and servanthood. This is Jesus, the son of God, God incarnate and the Bible says in Philippians chapter 2, verses 7 through 11 that ‘He humbled Himself, He became obedient even to the point of death, the death on the cross.’ The Bible tells us in Hebrews chapter 12, verses 1 and 2, that ‘we must look to Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith and it tells us who for the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross despising the shame and is seated at the right hand of the Father.’ So, the Bible is pointing us to the humility of Jesus, His servanthood and His sacrifice and that is something you and I are called to walk in. To walk in that same kind of humility, let this mind be in us which was also in Christ, to walk in that servant that He became a servant and to walk in that same level of sacrifice and suffering that we too will sacrifice for the sake of other people, for the sake of the work that God has called us to do, for the sake of the work of the kingdom of God that each one of us in the ways God has called us to will sacrifice. So, we walk in humility, we walk as servants, and we walk with sacrifice, being willing to endure suffering for the furtherance of God's purposes here on earth. Can we follow Jesus in that and follow His example, the example that He set for us? As the Bible teaches us that we who abide in Jesus must walk as Christ walked. May each of us truly walk as Christ walked. Let's pray together, Father, we ask that each of us will fix our gaze upon Jesus, look at Him as our role model, grow up in all things to be like Jesus and to just imitate Him and His example in all things so that Christ could truly be seen in us and radiated through us, we thank you Father, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
