Greetings once again and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank so much for this opportunity to minister God’s word and spend a few moments in prayer. Jesus chose you. John chapter 5, verses 8 and 9, ‘Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.’ The pool of Bethesda was renowned as a supposed place of healing during Jesus’ time. The pool of Bethesda in Aramaic was called the house of mercy and it was a spring fed pool just north of the temple. Near the water, a great number of disabled people used to lie, the blind, the lame, the paralyzed and these people would wait expectantly at the pool because they believed that an angel of the Lord would come down and after stirring up the water was made well of whatever disease they had. When Jesus went up to this man, He asked him, do you want to get well? The man had the opportunity to say yes and be healed by Jesus but instead the man put his faith in the so-called waters of the pool there and he complained that people cut through in front of him the moment the water was stirred. Sometimes, we may smirk at this man’s response but many times, we don’t receive the offer of healing from Jesus very well either. Do we take the opportunities that are presented to us or do we tend to complain and blame others for our problems? Thankfully, the story of the lame man in John chapter 5, shows us that healing is not about us, healing is about Jesus. Even though the man didn’t respond to Jesus in faith, Jesus still healed him. Even though the man complained, Jesus still gave him the ability to walk. Jesus swept aside all superstitions and false beliefs in just one command. He said, rise, take up your bed and walk. When we do not approach Jesus in complete faith or obedience, Jesus still offers us healing and salvation. Faith in anything other than Jesus is misplaced and leaves us wanting. Yet, Jesus can forgive anyone who will turn to Him for salvation, that is the ultimate healing that we all need. The source of our salvation is never based on our actions or work, it is always by the grace of God in Jesus. This reminds us of what Jesus later says to His disciples in John chapter 15, verse 16, Jesus says, ‘You did not choose me, but I chose you.’ What a powerful, loving, faithful God! Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for choosing each one of us to be partakers of your kingdom and we thank you for your word that assures us that we are co heirs with you, we are seated with you in heavenly places. Right now, I speak and declare healing over each one of us no matter what condition we are going through. We pray for the healing power of God to touch our lives and bring healing. We thank you for your word declares that by your striped we are healed, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
