Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are so glad that you could join us in this episode which is the daily
devotional of All people’s church. We’ve been looking at and studying the covenant names of God.
Today, we look at the covenant name, Jehovah Tsidekenu – the Lord our righteousness. The Lord uses
different occasions to reveal Himself to us and on one such occasion He reveals Himself and pronounces
His name as one who is righteous. We go to Jeremiah chapter 23, verses 5 and 6, ‘Behold, the days are
coming, says the Lord, that I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper,
and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will
dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’ We see
this is a Messianic prophecy and the Lord is promising/ foretelling through Jeremiah of a time of the true
and righteous king from king David’ lineage who will reign in justice and restore righteousness to His
people. This is the Messianic prophecy which points to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messianic king who
provides true righteousness to His people which cannot be earned but bestowed freely through His
sacrificial death and resurrection. We see this fulfillment in the Lord Jesus. 1 Corinthians chapter 1, verse
30 it says, ‘But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-and righteousness
and sanctification and redemption.' Another scripture, 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 21, it says, ‘For He
made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.’
Hallelujah! The Lord rose victoriously from the grave to destroy sin and death. Everything that we were
held back by and separating us from God, well, He removed it out of the way even as He rose
victoriously. We need to understand that we cannot earn this righteousness. Our own efforts and our
own striving cannot bring this righteousness, it is only through the Lord Jesus’ death, burial and
victorious resurrection. Now God is just, He is righteous, we can trust in His righteousness and in His
ultimate plan to bring justice and righteousness to all humanity and it is found in the Lord Jesus and it is
received by faith; it is a gift of grace. As believers, out identity is in Christ and in the righteousness that
He clothes us with which is a free gift so that we have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you are Jehovah Tsidekenu-you are our righteousness. We
thank you that this prophecy was fulfilled in Christ Jesus and in whatever He brought into our lives. We
thank you that in Christ, we are the righteousness of God, hallelujah. We thank you for this free gift that
you brought us and the grace that has made this possible for each one of us. Even today, we thank you
for this righteousness, that we can walk in righteousness, that we have been justified in an instant
because of the free gift of righteousness, that you have done for us on the cross. We thank you for the
victorious resurrection because of which we get to receive and walk in even today. We give you all the
praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
