Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings and trust you have been having a good week this week and pursuing God and pursuing a place of total shalom, to come into that place where we could live in total shalom. I want to bring our attention to the passage in Judges chapter 6, the place where we actually find the Jehovah title-Jehovah Shalom. We find this here but very quickly some background, this was a time where Israel as a nation was being oppressed by another tribe, the Midianites. They were overpowered by the Midianites several times, they were oppressed, troubled by them and at this time, we read about a young man named Gideon and he was part of all that was happening and knowing that the Midianites would keep coming and oppressing him and his people around him, he was threshing wheat in the winepress very secretly. Trying to get the grain and keep some for him and his family and at that time the angel of the Lord appears to him and he recognizes he was having an encounter with God and he makes an offering to God which God accepts and a fire comes and consumes that and he realizes he has encountered God and God is calling Gideon saying, you are a mighty man of valor, you go in your strength, I’m with you, I’m going to use you to deliver my people from the Midianites, I’m just quickly summarizing what happens there in Judges chapter 6. God is calling him to do this mighty thing and he is afraid thinking that I have seen God, I’m going to die and at that time in Judges chapter 6, verses 23-24, the Lord said to him, ‘Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.” So, Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it The-LORD-Is-Peace or Jehovah Shalom.’ The immediate context is God is saying, peace, you are not going to die. So, he calls God, the God who gives me peace, shalom. The bigger context is God is calling him to lead the people to overthrow the oppression, the oppressor, the troubles, the troublemakers and God is going to extend peace no just for Gideon but for His people, He is gong to bring shalom and bring them out of these problems. So, God revealed Himself saying, I’m the God who gives shalom, I’m Jehovah Shalom, I bring peace to you and through you I will bring peace for my people. So, today, our God is Jehovah Shalom. Our context maybe different, not the same as Judges chapter 6, we maybe facing different things in life and remember that God is Jehovah Shalom. From Him comes shalom, total wellbeing into your life and mine. If God is the source of our shalom, there is no man and no devil who could stop it because you are in a covenant relationship, Jehovah Shalom and He wants to be the source of our total peace. So, begin to say this, God is the source of my total peace. It doesn’t come from anywhere else; it comes from Jehovah Shalom; nobody can stop it. Let’s pray, Father, thank you that you are Jehovah Shalom, the source of our total peace, perfect peace, shalom- shalom. Let it fill each of our lives, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
