Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally. We are so glad that we could study the word of God
together and in fact, when we believe, receive and walk in the word of God, it allows us and elevates us
to live supernatural lives. We’ve been looking at the covenant names of God and today we are looking at
yet another covenant name which is Jehovah Shalom. God uses many occasions to reveal Himself to us
and through these covenant names, He reveals His power, His character and His desire to bring about
what He is revealing or who He is revealing Himself to be in our lives. We go to Judges chapter 6 and we
see a very difficult situation there, where Israel has done evil in the sight of the Lord and the Lord has
given them over to the Midianites. The Midianites for over seven years come, oppress and take away
the livestock, destroy the crops and Israel is in severe oppression. So much so, that they hide in caves,
dens and strongholds in the mountains. The angel of the Lord comes and appears to Gideon in Judges
chapter 6 and Gideon has an encounter and he asks these questions, if the Lord is truly our God, then
where is the God of Elijah? Where are the promises? Why are all these things happening to us? The Lord
through this angel reveals the plan and purpose for Gideon. He says, ‘arise O man of valor.’ Gideon says,
do not go, I want to bring an offering and he brings and offering of meat and bread and he brings it
before the angel. The angel of the Lord instructs him to place it on the rock and touches the offering
with the staff and fire comes out from the rock and devours this offering. Then Gideon realizes that he is
in the presence of something supernatural and in the presence of the angel of the Lord. He says, I have
seen the angel of the Lord face to face and he says, alas, O Lord, for I have seen the angel of the Lord.
The angel says, peace be with you, do not fear, you shall not die. Gideon builds an alter to the Lord and
calls it, the Lord is peace or shalom. The Lord indeed is our peace. The Lord who revealed Himself to
Gideon as the one who is Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is our peace even today. In the midst of confusion,
chaos and storms, the Lord wants to remind us that He is Jehovah Shalom. Shalom is not just the
absence of confusion or chaos, shalom is also the presence of goodwill, strength, salvation, peace,
healing, prosperity and wholeness. He is Jehovah Shalom. Today, if you are going through any such
problems or incidences and circumstances, we are reminded He is Jehovah Shalom. Shall we pray?
Father, we thank you that you are Jehovah Shalom. If anything is happening in our lives contrary to the
shalom you promised, we pray and invite you to come rule, reign and be enthroned in our lives as
Jehovah Shalom, the one who brings peace, is peace and one who brings goodness, deliverance,
salvation, prosperity, healing and wholeness. Come Lord and let this word be true in our lives and let
this word be our experience even as you have revealed yourself as Jehovah Shalom, in Jesus’ name we
pray and ask, Amen.
