Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Greetings! and thank you so much for this privilege of being able to come your way, spend some time with you in the word and in prayer. This week, we're talking about feeding on the word, the fact that we need to nourish our inner person with the word of God, feed your inner person with the word of God. In the few days that we have this week, I wanted to talk about various aspects of how we can consume and digest the word, just to understand what is involved. Now, of course, we need to read the word that means you set some time aside every day, whether it's in the morning or whatever time is convenient for you, to say I'm going to take this time to read the word of God, very similar to how we have kind of set times for something called breakfast and lunch and dinner. Now when an individual has their breakfast or lunch, or dinner is up to their convenience but generally, breakfast is what you have in the morning, lunch at some time in the midday and dinner sometime in the evening. So those are the times that we have set aside to nurture or nourish our physical bodies. In a very similar way, it's good for us to have a set time or set times in the course of everyday where we nourish our inner person. So, you set some time aside according to your convenience and you say I'm going to nourish my inner person with the word of God. Typically, it would mean you spend time reading the scriptures, reading the bible. I know we can also hear the word in audio form and so on and so forth, but let's just talk about you know, having the time when you sit and you read the scriptures, you read the bible. So, as we read the bible and I would encourage you to read it systematically, that means you go chapter by chapter, book by book, so for instance if you read Matthew chapter one today, you read Matthew chapter two tomorrow, then Matthew chapter three the next day, you go sequentially, reading little by little through the scriptures. But as we are reading the scriptures, we are looking at the scriptures, the bible as our spiritual food. It's milk, bread, and solid food for our inner person. How do we consume it? The first step, a very important step is to receive illumination from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit inspired the scriptures, the writing of the scriptures. Today, the same Holy Spirit illuminates the reading of the scriptures that means when you and I have read it, He turns the light on, He sheds the light on the scriptures for us to see. When it's dark you can't see well but when you turn the light on, you're able to see the details, it's like wow, where was all this? It was always there but because it was dark, you couldn't see it but when the light was turned on, you could see those things and that's what we need to ask the Holy Spirit to do. The Psalmist in Psalm chapter 119 he prayed many prayers and prayers that you and I could pray, and I'll just reference it before we close, he said in verse 18, ‘Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from your law.’ Verse 27 ‘make me to understand your precepts; So, shall I meditate on your wonderful works.’ Verse 33 ‘teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.’ Verse 34 ‘Give me understanding, and I will keep your law; Indeed, I will observe it with my whole heart.’ So, he says, open my eyes, make me understand, teach me, give me understanding so that Lord, I may be able to follow your word, that's illumination, asking the Lord, teach me, help me to understand, open my eyes, help me to see. So, when you sit to read the bible next time, expect God to do this for you, pray and expect God to do this for you, expect to see things you have never seen before, that's elimination. Let's Pray, Lord, help us to nourish our inner person with your word, as we read your word, illuminate, open our eyes, teach, help us understand so we could see things we've never seen before, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
