Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Hello and welcome to Living supernaturally. We are so glad that you could be joining today and that we could study God’s word together. We’ve been doing a series on typically questions that the Lord Jesus was asked during His earthly ministry when He interacted with people and had conversations with people and the Lord would answer, and this is something that is of value for our learning and for our application.

So today we are going to look at another such question which the Lord was asked. We see this in John chapter 3 and verse 3 onwards, where the Lord said to Nicodemus, ‘Unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.’ So, Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old?” and the Lord goes on to answer Nicodemus and teach him (now Nicodemus is a teacher himself and he is a spiritual leader) some deep spiritual truths.

The Lord responded in this manner in verse 5 we see, Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.’ Here was the Lord talking about spiritual matters, and He was talking about the Kingdom of God which is spiritual in nature and how a person can enter/ have access into the Kingdom of God. Nicodemus was looking at the physical/ natural, his question pointed that out. He said how can a man be born again. Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born? How can this happen, how is this possible?

So, the Lord was saying, that which is born of the Spirit is spirit and that which is born of the flesh is flesh; there is a birth that happens in the flesh, in the natural and there is a spiritual birth and unless all those who are born in the flesh have that spiritual birth, they cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. He called that, the born-again experience. So, this is a reality for all of us, the question that we need to ask ourselves is, Am I born again?’ because I can be here physically, but my spirit need not necessarily be born again, that is not automatic. So that is something we see, we being born again is not automatic, it is something that we need to choose of our own will, when we receive the Lord, as Lord and Savior.

Romans chapter 10 talks about when we confess the Lord and when we believe it in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead then we are born again and come alive. We go down and see in verse 16, ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’ We all know this verse and it is in response to this question that Nicodemus asked the Lord and the Lord answers this. So, its an important thing that unless we are born again, we cannot enter the Kingdom of God, but God so loved us and continues to love us that He sent His only begotten son to die on the cross that whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life. So, this is something for us to experience, if we have not yet received the Lord as our Savior, and this is something for us to share with others, to the world outside that they will be born again.

Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that your word says that you loved us so much that you gave your only begotten son Jesus and whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Father, we pray for those who have not yet made that decision to believe in you, I pray they will be moved to believe in you today and we also pray for our friends, family and relatives who do not yet believe in you, Lord we pray even as we share the gospel that they will put their faith in you and be born again, we thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
