Greetings, thank you for journeying with us through this week. Today is Friday and hope you’ve had a great week so far. We are going to bring our attention to another Old Testament scripture where God gives us additional insight on what it takes to dwell in perfect peace/ total shalom. In Isaiah chapter 48, verses 17 and 18, God says, ‘Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go. Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.’ In verse 17, God is saying, look, I am the Lord who teaches you how to profit/ increase. That word profit there in Hebrew means I am going to teach you how to increase/ flourish/ ascend/ go to higher level. I am the God who is going to do that for you, I will make that happen for you. But He says, one thing, you stick with my commandments, with my word because then your shalom will be unending, abounding, overflowing like a river. God is saying, I’m going to cause you to prosper/ increase/ ascend to greater heights and you can have shalom abounding like a river, overflowing like a river in your life, that is the heart of God, He wants us to be in that place but He just says one thing, stay with my commandments, just stay with my word, then you will experience shalom overflowing like a river and your righteousness overflowing knowing no limits. Keep and stay with my commands. I want to encourage us, this is what God said, I can give you total shalom, shalom overflowing like a river causing you to profit/ ascend and increase in life, but stay with my word, my commandments. Let’s commit ourselves to doing that, God, we are going to stay with your word and commandments because you want it to be well with us. Let’s pray, Lord, we ask that you help us just stay with your word and commands because you are the God who wants us to profit/ experience shalom abounding and overflowing like a river in our lives. May this be true for each of us, may we experience profit/ increase/ ascending to greater heights and shalom abounding like a river, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
