Greetings and thank you for the opportunity to come to you today. Thank you for joining us in this daily devotion. This week, we're talking about the A, B, C’s of faith and just bring our attention to some of the essentials, the fundamentals of how we exercise faith in God. Today, I want to bring our attention to the fact that Jesus Christ is the high priest of our confession. Hebrews chapter 3, verse 1, the writer of Hebrews says, ‘therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and high priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.’ It says look at Jesus, He is the Apostle, He's the high priest of our confession. The word confession in the Greek is ‘homologia’ to say the same thing, to speak in agreement with. So, here he's not talking about confession of sin but he's talking about the faith we profess, of us saying the same thing as what we believe. So, you believe it in your heart, you're saying it with your mouth, that's your confession. It's you professing your faith, it's you declaring in line with the word of God and what you and I believe. Jesus Christ is the high priest of our confession, this is repeated for us later on in Hebrews and so when we confess, when we speak in agreement with God, in our faith in God, in our faith in His word, when we say it, the Lord Jesus stands as the high priest that means He's representing our confession, He's representing the expression of our faith, our vocal expression of faith, He's representing that before the Father. Of course, we also express our faith or we profess our faith by the life we live. So, the faith that we profess whether we speak it or out act it out, Jesus Christ is the high priest of it, He's representing that before the Father and He's saying that confession has to be honored, that confession has to be confirmed because somebody on earth is believing and speaking in line and in agreement with us. Remember, when you confess your faith, you've got a high priest in heaven who's standing on behalf of your confession to make it good, to confirm it, to make sure it's established in your life. So, confess the word. Let's pray, Father, we thank you that your word is truth and as we confess, Jesus Christ stands as the high priest of our confession, in Jesus name, Amen.
