Welcome to Living Supernaturally. We're so glad that you could be part of today's daily devotion where
we look at God's word, study God's word and seek to apply God's word so that we can live according to
the truth of what God's word declares. We've been studying the response of God's people when God
calls them and they respond by saying ‘here I am’. So, today we look at the life of Moses, when he
responded to God and said ‘here I am’ and God gave him an instruction and we are looking at the whole
incident that happened there. We're looking at Exodus chapter 3 and verses 4 to 10 onwards and that is
where this whole incident happens. Now Moses was tending sheep in the wilderness, he had run away
from the palace of Pharaoh in Egypt, he had run away because he had killed an Egyptian and they were
out to get him so he ran away to the wilderness and it's been 40 years and he's been looking after sheep
and life has changed completely for Moses as it were. So, now Moses goes and he has this strange
encounter, something supernatural- there is a bush in the wilderness that is burning. Now it was burning
and yet it was not consumed by the fire, it was not burned down, it continued to burn. So, God gets his
attention, he turns towards the bush to get a closer, detailed look and he looks at that and God speaks
to him from the midst of the bush and calls out and says, Moses, Moses. To which he replied, ‘here I am’
and that sets a conversation in place, there's a decision that is made, there is hesitation on Moses' part
but God through it all, just because Moses responded and said ‘Here I am’ with his whole heart, God
puts things in place and brings forth the mission of Moses. The call of Moses, the destiny of Moses,
everything unravels or is revealed at this point." So, God tells him Moses, the land that on which you're
standing is holy ground, the place on which you're standing is holy ground so, remove your sandals and
He introduces Himself and He reiterates who He is, He says "I am the God of your father the God of
Abraham and Isaac, the God of Jacob." So, He says, I'm the God of all these generations, of your
ancestors. And Moses hides his face for he was afraid to look upon God but God recounts to Moses that
he has seen the oppression of his people and he has come down, he wants to go and make a change,
bring about a change and deliver them and he says, come now, I will send you to Pharaoh, I will send
you to the people that you might take the children of Israel out of Egypt. So, begins an extraordinary
adventure for Moses with God. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that you as you revealed your plans
to Moses, as you reintroduced yourself to Moses, even as he responded to the call and said "Here I am”,
may it be so in our lives today. Maybe there are some of us who are in that wilderness season, maybe
there are some of us who have forgotten the call or maybe neglected the call and the destiny that you
have for us; even today Lord, I pray even as we respond and say ‘here I am’ even as you speak to our
hearts and draw our hearts to yourself and even as we respond ‘here I am’, I pray it'll be the beginning
of a greatest adventure, it'll be a beginning of restoration of the call and the promise and the destiny
upon our lives. we pray that you will bring it to pass for each one of us, in Jesus’ matchless name we
pray, Amen.
