Hello and welcome back, we're so glad that you could be part of Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People's church, where we look into God's word, we study God's word and we apply God's word for our lives. Today and a few days we've been looking at and studying the response of God's people when they said ‘here I am’ and what God did in their lives. So, today we're looking at Israel or Jacob after his name was changed to Israel. Now Jacob/ Israel is actually an aged person, he's gone on in years, he's elderly now and he's old. And what has happened is that his sons have sold Joseph, one of his sons to slave traders and Joseph is taken away to a faraway land, he's taken to Egypt and so many things have happened in Joseph's lives and after all these years, they find as the famine grows increasingly harsh, they go to Egypt and there they rediscover Joseph. That the Lord has been with him and the Lord has made him successful and prospered him. Jacob is ready to begin this journey to go there to the land where Joseph is and we see this in Genesis chapter 46, ‘So, Israel took his journey with all that he had and came to Beersheba and offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac. Then God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night and said "Jacob, Jacob." And he said ‘here I am’. So, He said, I am God, the God of your father; do not fear to go down to Egypt, for I will make of you a great nation there. I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will also surely bring you up again; and Joseph will put his hand on your eyes.’ In response to Israel or Jacob's ‘here I am’ God brings a word of prophecy; God foretells what is going to happen in future and God says to Israel which means a prince with God. God tells Jacob after changing his name and He says, I will make of you a great nation and He says, do not be afraid to go down to this strange land, you go there and I will make of you a great nation, I will go down with you. The Lord promises His presence that He will journey with him to Jacob. And Jacob is elderly now and he is aged, he's weak probably but the Lord says I will go down with you and I will surely make of you a great nation. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for this promise that you made to Israel/ Jacob when he said "Here I am." Father God, we thank you for the promise that you will go down with him, you will travel with him and that he doesn't have anything to fear because you are with him and that you will make of him a great nation. Lord, even today we thank you that you are the same God and as we respond and yield and say to you ‘here I am’ we pray whatever you have in store for us, even as you journey with us and even as you promised us that you will never leave us nor forsake us, we pray the things that you have in store that you will bring it into our lives and take us to our destiny and make of us a blessing to those around us. We thank you; we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
