Greetings and thank you for joining us today on this daily devotional. This week, we've been talking about personal evangelism, highlighting the fact that people need Jesus. When the Lord Jesus began His ministry, He quoted from Isaiah chapter 61, to give a little understanding of what His ministry is going to be about. He said this in Isaiah chapter 61, verse 1 onwards, ‘The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted.’ Jesus said that was part of His purpose statement to heal the brokenhearted. When we look around us, we see people, our own friends, family, others who will come across our path, many of them are broken inside, broken hearted-talking about their inner condition that they are broken inside. Life has crushed them. They have gone through all kinds of things in life and the Lord Jesus said, that He came to heal the broken hearted. He came to make them whole in the areas of brokenness. So, think about this, when we share Jesus with somebody, when we bring them the gospel or message of Jesus Christ, we are giving them an opportunity to find healing for their brokenness. How the Lord is going to do that, is up to Him and He knows how to do it. Their condition of brokenness might be small or big and complex but it is not up to us to fix it. It is Jesus Christ who heals the brokenhearted. Our goal or responsibility is to bring the message of Jesus, to tell them about the one who can make them whole. There are people all around us who need Jesus. They need the one who can bring healing to their brokenness. So, when we are sharing Jesus with people, let’s do it with a passion knowing that we are actually addressing a need in their lives, we are actually bringing them the one who can heal their broken heart, that’s is what we are doing. So, let’s be motivated to share Jesus with people with a broken and hurting world all around us. Let’s pray, Lord Jesus, we ask that you will stir us up, motivate us and help us see that when we bring your message and your name to people, we are giving them an opportunity to receive healing for their brokenness. Motivate us we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
