Growing in the Gifts of the Spirit - Reflect, Learn, Increase (Daily Devotional)

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We're so glad that you could be here while we study God's word together and as we apply it daily in our lives to live a supernatural life. We've been studying about growing in the gifts of the Spirit and one of the things that help us that we're going to look at today is to reflect, to learn in order to increase in the gifts of the Spirit. So, what does it mean to reflect? God speaks to us in unique ways, God speaks to us through His word, through dreams and visions, and He speaks to our spirit senses and even as we become sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit, but everything is based on the word of God, that's our final authority. He does not contradict the word. Now, even as we learn to grow in understanding God's instructions and growing in this journey of being close to God and increasing in our intimacy with Him, we can reflect on the way God has spoken. We can reflect on the way God has moved through us, through the work of the Holy Spirit in terms of gifts and we can reflect and learn from that. So, we reflect on these various experiences. Maybe it was a word of knowledge, how did God give that word? Maybe it was about someone's past or someone's present condition, how did God speak to us? Was it something that bubbled up in our spirit? Was it something that was given visually like a picture? How did God reveal? As we reflect on that, we can learn from that and say, "this is how God spoke to me and this is how God can speak to me in the future as well." Second thing is to learn, learn from every experience. Learn from the success and also learn from the mistakes. We learn how to do things, we learn how not to do things and that's an important learning as well and we keep building on our successes and also avoid making the same mistakes that we did earlier on. Third thing is to increase in faith. All these gifts are released in faith and so we build ourselves in faith through the word of God, through praying in tongues and through the work of the Holy Spirit, we increase in faith and thereby we grow in our gifts of the Holy Spirit. How do you build faith? We build faith by meditating on the word. We build faith through testimonies. We hear the stories of how God has moved and how God has done great things and we hear the testimonies of how God is specifically using people in the release of the gifts of the Spirit and so we increase in faith. We also increase in faith even as we pray and fast. We get sharper in our spirit man as we fast and pray and these are some ways by which we grow in the Spirit. So, we reflect, we learn and we increase in our faith and these are some ways by which we move and increase in and grow in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that your desire is that we grow. Enable us to grow even as we journey with you, Lord. Teach us, may we reflect, may we not let go of the ways in which you spoke to us in the past. Lord, may we learn how you lead us in the present and the future, we thank you, Lord, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
