Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We're so glad that you could be here today and
even as we study God's word, it's so encouraging and refreshing to encounter the promises of
God in the Bible. I'm sure all of us have read the promise of God and it's so wonderful, so
lifegiving when we encounter the promise of God. The promise of God is given at a certain
context and scholars say that there are more than 7,000 of such promises. It is given at a
certain context and we need to be mindful of that context, but also, we know that these
promises are true and these promises are available for us today in our day and time. So, today
we look at a promise where the Lord Jesus says these words, John chapter 11, verses 25 and 26
and the Lord Jesus speaks these words to Martha after the death of her brother, Lazarus. So,
Martha and Jesus have this conversation and Lazarus is dead and it is the third day and they've
given up all hope of Jesus coming and performing a miracle and we see that He's delayed, He
arrives only on the third day and so there's so much of hopelessness and grief over there and
unanswered questions. And in such a situation, the Lord releases His word and declares His
power by fulfilling this promise. John chapter 11, verses 25 to 26, He says, "I am the
resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever
lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” The Lord introduces Himself and
describes Himself as the resurrection and the life. And He says that he who believes in me,
though he may die physically, he shall live. And whoever believes and lives shall never die,
meaning that he will have eternal life. This eternal life is found only when we believe in Jesus.
And the Lord turns around and asks this question after He makes this promise, He questions
Martha and He says, "Do you believe this?" The Lord in the same chapter, John chapter 11, we
see the Lord saying, "Believe and you will see the glory of God." The glory of God being the
power of God, the display of who God is and what He can do. He says, "Believe and you will see
the glory of God." So, His promise of eternal life is for us and it is only to those who believe in
Jesus and this eternal life is for us who believe in Him. He says that those who believe in Him,
this eternal life goes on and it'll never be taken away. So, today we can pray and He's asking us
this question, do you believe this? Even as we pray, let's respond to the Lord and say, "Yes,
Lord, we believe." Let's pray, Father, we thank you for this promise that you are the
resurrection and the life. And those who believe in you, come into this eternal life. And those
who believe in you and receive this life will never die. We thank you for this amazing promise.
We thank you for the way in which we can access this promise when we believe in you. We
thank you, Lord, you promised and said, "Those who believe in you, will see the glory of God."
And yes, today we believe that you are all that you said you are, that we might see your glory
being manifest in our lives. We give you praise and thanks, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
