Daily Devotional church in Bangalore
by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah
Welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People's church. We hope you are blessed by this ministry and even as you take time to study God's word with us today. God's word comforts us and there is so much of comfort in God's word. So many scriptures, so many passages, so many promises that bring God's word of comfort to us. Today, we are looking at one such verse and the context is this that John in the island of Patmos, he has this vision of this new heaven and new earth which reveals God's ultimate promise- an eternal kingdom. In this eternal kingdom, it is devoid of sorrow, it is devoid of death, there is no suffering and all these things do not exist and we are looking at one such promise. Revelation chapter 21 and verse 4, ‘and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.’ Now this is coming from the eternal comforter, the one who brings encouragement into our lives. And this is the revelation that John receives from the island of Patmos which is recorded for us in Revelation chapter 21 and verse 4 - God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. And even today right now it is valid. Now not only that, he's talking about the eternal kingdom which we will be part of as believers where God wipe away every tear and bring in comfort. There shall be no more death, no sorrow, no more crying, no more pain. It's a wonderful place and a wonderful comfort that God brings. Well, the same God is able to bring that kind of comfort into our lives in today's circumstances and situations. Isaiah chapter 49 and verse 13 says, ‘Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people and will have mercy on his afflicted.’ This verse also talks about the restoration of Israel and the prophet calls all creation to rejoice as God has comforted His people. And this is the Lord whom we worship. He brings in a comfort that's enduring and that's everlasting. So even as we pray today, may we pray in faith and receive this comfort that comes from God. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for your eternal encouragement and eternal comfort. We thank you that you're taking us to a place, a kingdom where there's no more tears, no sorrow, no dying, no sickness. Lord, we thank you it's a place of where there's no more pain. And Lord, we thank you that you are the one who brings about such a place and take us to such a place and you are the God of comfort, who's able to cause this and bring this to pass in our lives. So, we put our faith in you and we trust in you today, in our life circumstances and whatever we are part of today, bring in this comfort, Lord, for we need it. Bring in this change for we need it. We thank you for you are well able to do it and you promise that you will do this. We thank you; we give you all praise and glory, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen.
