Welcome to Living Supernaturally. Welcome to the daily devotion of All People's church. We are so glad that you could tune in once again and receive from the word of God. We've been studying the word of God and we're looking at passages, certain verses which talk about the comfort that comes from God. In fact, God, the Holy Spirit, He is described as the helper, the parakletos who brings comfort, the one who brings help, the one who strengthens and the one who comforts us and that's the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we are privileged to partake of, we are privileged to receive by faith. We are looking at this verse today, Matthew chapter 5 and verse 4 for today's comfort, the Lord Jesus preaching this sermon, what is famously called as the sermon on the mount. He says, ‘blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.’ Are you mourning today? Are you in a season of grief where you are grieving over personal loss and maybe you are sorrowing over something that you've done, maybe some poor choice that was done, poor decision and as a consequence of that, maybe you are in a season of grief and sorrow and you are in a need of comfort. Well, you are in the right place because when you turn to the Lord Jesus, He says, blessed are those who mourn. If you are mourning, He's saying, "blessed are you who are mourning." And the reason is not you are blessed because you are mourning per se, but blessed are you because you shall be comforted. And that comfort comes from God, that comfort comes from the Holy Spirit and because of that, you can call yourself blessed. You can call yourself blessed because you are a target for the comfort of God. You are a target for the comforter to comfort you and bring His ministry of comfort into your life. So, take heart today if you're going through such a season because the comforter will bring His comfort and He says, blessed are you because you shall be comforted and not just comforted because we read in Romans chapter 15 and verse 13, it says, ‘now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ Maybe you're grieving and without a sense of hope and in a season of hopelessness, well, this is God's promise and this is what God can do. The God of hope, the God of all comfort, may He fill you. He is capable of filling you with joy and peace but in believing. So, when we come to God, let's believe that He is who He says He is- that He is the comforter and that He is the one who brings hope into our lives. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for the comfort that comes from you. We thank you that you are the one who fills us with hope, to overflow with hope when we believe. And you fill us with joy and peace when we believe you. We believe that you are who you say you are. Lord, we open our hearts and let the ministry of the Holy Spirit as the comforter fill us and strengthen us today. We give you all praise and glory, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
