Greetings and welcome once again to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for taking this time to come together, pray and mediate on God’s word. You and I are God’s mouthpiece. Joel chapter 2, verses 28 through 32, ‘“And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also, on My menservants and on My maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.’ Everyone knew that Moses was God’s mouthpiece. He spoke God’s word to the people. So, when Moses’ assistant heard about two men speaking words from the Lord, he thought he should stop them but Moses said something interesting. He said, are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all of the Lord’s people who are prophets, that the Lord would put His Spirit on them. What a wonderful honor that must have been in the Old Testament, to be counted as God’s chosen mouthpiece. The one who will speak for God to an entire generation, to a nation, to an army. Though it was a great honor, we know it was also a terrifying thing. God never chooses the most likely or even the most equipped but He chooses the most willing. Moses was not ready but God chose him. Jeremiah thought he was too young but God chose him. Moses wanted more preachers and teachers for Israel, he wanted everyone to have God’s Spirit on them. Many years later, the prophet Joel, spoke of the same message as a blessing to the future. God said to him, I will pour out my Spirit on all people and we know this happened when the Holy Spirit came down on the feast of the Pentecost. It can be hard to be friends with prophets. They can say things that people don’t want to hear. Many people today don’t want anything to do with Jesus. The world desperately needs prophets; prophets who will speak God’s word, who will speak God’s truth in love and mercy. As God’s ambassadors in this broken and hurting world, you and I are called to be prophets. We are called to confess the Lord’s name, we are called to bring peace, hope and joy. Like it or not, you are a prophet called to bring the good news of Jesus to the world. It is a wonderful honor and privilege to be a mouthpiece of God. My question is, how will you do that today? Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this great privilege and honor that you have given us to be your mouthpiece to this world around us. I pray that you will put the right words in our mouth, that you will speak to us, direct us, that every word that comes out of our mouth will be anointed of you, that our words will bring life into people’s lives. We thank you for this opportunity, we give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
