Hello friends, welcome and thank you so much for joining us as we take some time to meditate on God's word. Today, we will talk about the peace that comes from God. Let's begin by reading a passage of scripture, this is from Judges chapter 6 verses 23 and 24, ‘Then the Lord said to him, "Peace be with you; Do not fear, you shall not die." So, Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it "The Lord is peace." To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.’ It's a very interesting incident in the life of Gideon. In a moment when he was called for a great battle and victory, he questioned himself. And in this moment of questioning and doubt, God reveals Himself as Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is peace. We see several names of God that display His character and help us understand who He truly is. And even this name, Jehovah Shalom, or the Lord is peace, is describing to us the God who gives peace, the God who is peace Himself. And then we see Gideon going into battle, winning over the Midianites, and destroying some of the altars of the Midianites. So, what can we learn from this? We know that we go through seasons of questioning, fear, doubt, confusion, and anxiety. No matter what we go through, the God of peace remains the God of peace, Jehovah Shalom. He never changes; He brings us peace in our very situation. Experiencing peace begins from God. He is the one who imparts peace to us. Our situation may be lacking perfection, but peace comes from God. He is the very source of peace and in that situation that is not perfect, He brings Himself, He brings his wisdom, He brings His presence and gives us peace. Let's count on Him to bring us peace, no matter what it is that we are going through. Walking in peace is not about the absence of conflict. It's about putting our trust in the one who will give us peace. There are other passages of scripture where we see that He will keep us in perfect peace. It's something that God does for those who trust in Him. He will, the God of peace will impart peace in our challenging situations. May our hearts rest upon Him. May our minds lean on His word. Shall we pray together? Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are the God of peace, Jehovah Shalom and we know that your peace is available in all that we are going through today. We pray Father that we will experience your peace, may it fill our hearts and our lives. We thank you for doing it, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
