Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and welcome to the episode on emotions that we have been discovering through this week. We discovered that emotions are a gift from God. Today we are going to look at how God knows each one of our feelings. God knows every one of our feelings, sometimes when we are in hard times, we feel extremely overwhelmed or when there is sadness or uncertainty, we feel isolated, we feel alone, there are thoughts of helplessness or there are thoughts of abandonment that become extremely strong at certain points of time, often not keeping us in a place of not knowing how to look ahead. Scripture gives us the hope that the Lord knows and is aware of every one of our feelings. Psalms chapter 34, verses 18 to 19 reads ‘the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.’ God does not leave us in our distress or dismiss the weight of our emotions, but He graciously comes near to us. The scripture that we read said, God is near to the brokenhearted and He saves those who are crushed in spirit. The Hebrew word for delivers is very powerful and it is translated to mean ‘to be safe’. So, God is not just standing by us, but He is actively providing His safety for us, in His presence. The bible shows us and gives us a light of emotions about Jesus that we can take courage from. Isaiah chapter 53 gives us the understanding and what it says is that Jesus was acquainted with grief. It speaks of Jesus, as a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. How blessed it is for us to know that since Jesus suffered these intense emotions, He also understands us and knows us, absolutely the best. Even in Jesus’ ministry, we see the way that He wept, when Lazarus died, or He responded with compassion when there were people who needed Him. We also see that Jesus was tested in every way, Hebrews chapter 4 and verse 15 says, ‘we have a high priest who sympathizes with our weakness’, and we know that these emotions that we may be going through is something that He sympathizes with us for. We do know that that the Lord was tempted in every way and yet He did overcome. So today, whatever you may be facing, wherever you are today, know that God is with you. He delivers you from your affliction, from the brokenness in your heart, speak to Him, tell Him about what you are going through, and you can be sure that you will be delivered. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, we bring to you every heart that is broken today, that is contrite, that is crushed in their spirit. Thank you for the assurance that you deliver the righteous from every brokenness, we look to you, to fill us and give us your peace and your comfort. Thank you for being ever so close to us with your presence, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
