Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this opportunity to minister God's word and to spend a few moments in prayer. This morning, we're talking about overcoming burnout. Matthew chapter 11, verse 28, ‘Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.’ Burnout doesn't usually happen all at once. It builds through long days, constant pressure and the feeling that you keep getting, no matter how tired you are. What once felt meaningful will start draining you and even small tasks become overwhelming. In these moments, it's easy to believe that rest is a luxury you can't afford, but Jesus offers a different invitation - one that speaks directly to our very hearts. He doesn't say, "Try harder or push through." Instead, He says, "Come to me." This is a call to a relationship, not just relief. True rest isn't just about stopping work; it's about restoring your soul. You can step away from tasks and still feel exhausted, but when you turn your heart towards Christ, He renews you from within. Burnout often comes by carrying more than what you are meant to carry, whether it's unrealistic expectations, the need to prove yourself, or the weight of responsibilities you haven't released to God. When you and I try to handle everything on our own strength, fatigue is inevitable. But God never asked us to do life alone, He invites us to lay down our burdens before Him, to trust that He will work with us in every season and in every phase. Rest also requires intentional choices. It may mean setting boundaries, saying no to things that can drain you or making time for quiet moments with God. These decisions are not signs of weaknesses; they are acts of godly wisdom. Jesus Himself stepped away from crowds to rest and pray, showing that renewal is essential and not optional. Reflecting on why we serve whether in the family, work or ministry realigns our efforts with God's missions. This reduces stress and renews motivation. At the same time, we embrace grace and flexibility. Seasons of life shift and sometimes work demands more, sometimes family’s needs arise and sometimes ministry opportunities expand. As you seek to overcome burnout, remember that your worth is not measured by how much you accomplish. God values you not for your productivity but for your presence with Him. When you rest in His love, you begin to find strength, not just to keep going, but to move forward with renewed purpose and hope. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for your word that teaches us and you said, Lord, come to me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. We pray God that you will Lord minister to us even those who may be having a weary heart that we will run to you and know that you are the God who can give us rest and so Lord we thank you for your Holy Spirit that teaches us and guides us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
