Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to minister the word and to spend a few moments in prayer. This week, we've been looking at different aspects of work, family and ministry and talking about God and faith at work. Today, we'll talk about discerning God's will in transitions. Proverbs chapter 3, verses 5 and 6, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.’ Transitions can be both exciting and unsettling. Whether it's a new job, a change in the family responsibilities, a move, a shift in ministry, stepping into the unknown can often bring questions. Am I making the right decision? Is this where God is leading me? In these moments, the desire for clear direction feels urgent. Yet, God often leads us in ways that require trust more than certainty. Discerning God's will is less about finding the perfect road map and more about developing a trusting relationship with Him along the journey. This verse in Proverbs reminds us not to rely solely on our own understanding but the understanding that comes from God. Our perspective is limited, shaped by our emotions, our circumstances and incomplete information, but God sees the full picture - the past, the present and the future and His guidance is rooted in wisdom and love. The first principle in transitions is anchoring in scripture. God's word provides timeless truth that guides our choices. Second, discernment requires prayerful dependence. Transitions can stir anxiety but prayer shifts our focus from the circumstance to God's sovereign hand. Through prayer, we invite the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts, to clarify our motives and give us peace for the next step ahead. Often, God's will is revealed not in dramatic signs, but in quiet assurance that comes in times of quietness spent with Him. Third, God often uses wise counsel and community to confirm His direction. Seeking advice from mature believers, mentors, family members help us avoid blind spots and ensures our decisions are not made in oblivion. In Acts chapter 13, the church in Antioch discerned God's will for Paul and Barnabas together, showing that transitions are best navigated in community. Finally, discerning God's will involves trusting His providence and timing. Transitions may feel disruptive but they're often opportunities for growth and new assignments. Even when the path is unclear, God promises to direct our steps. This does not mean that everything's going to be easy, but it does mean you can move forward in trust, knowing that the Lord will go with you. Even in the path of these challenges, God uses every season to shape your character and to draw you closer to Him. Remember that God's will is not just about where you go, but who you become along the way. As you seek Him, He aligns your heart to His purposes. This means if your plans shift or unfold differently than expected, you are never outside God's care. He is guiding you step by step and leading you to His plan and purpose for your life. Let's pray, Father, we thank you for your word, we thank you for the different seasons that you take us through. Lord, give us the wisdom to journey along these seasons even in the midst of uncertainty to know that we can trust in you. You are a God who will lead us through the right path. Help us to be mindful and to walk in faith, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
