Go Preach The Gospel (daily Devotional)

Greetings and thank you so much for the opportunity to come to you this week and spend some time in God’s word and in prayer each day. Our objective this week is continuing on the theme of personal evangelism, something we introduced a couple of weeks back. We want to look at it from the perspective of the Lord Jesus that the Lord has commissioned us to be His witnesses. Can you imagine the Lord Jesus telling us saying, you are my witnesses. That is exactly what He has done, those were the words He spoke to His early disciples and which has been transferred to us today as His believers in this time in which we are living. If Jesus were here personally, He will come to us and say, you are my witnesses. So, we want to let that bear upon our hearts that there is a heavenly assignment, a commission, a goal, an urgency that has been placed upon us by the Lord Jesus Himself to share His message with people around us. We begin this week by looking at Mark chapter 16, verse 15, where Jesus said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’ Go to the whole world and share, tell and comminate the good news to every person, that is the commission He gave us. So, think about what the Lord Jesus desires, He wants every person to hear the good news. You and I, we have people in our friends circles that means people that we know very well, we have acquaintances- people that we meet and interact with briefly in casual terms maybe in school, college, places of work or other interactions that we have, then, of course, there are strangers with whom we have no connection with but our paths may cross and we may have an opportunity to say hello. What we need to carry in our hearts is this, that the Lord Jesus wants the good news to be brought to each one of them. So, there is no question in our minds, should I tell this person about Jesus or not, no! His commission is go take the good news to the whole world and to every person. So, if we have the opportunity, whatever way we can, our attempt must be, can I in someway point this person to Jesus? Can I in some way have a conversation with this person that might point them to Jesus? Can I even have the opportunity to share the message in its completeness and entirety and even see them being led to Jesus? We may sow the seed, water the seed or reap the harvest, whatever role we have, the commission is take this good news to every person, everywhere, that is what the Lord Jesus wants us to do and we should be actively engaged in doing that, it is a commission. He said, do it; let’s obey. Let’s pray, Lord, we ask that you will awaken our hearts to recognizing, to embracing the weight and seriousness of this responsibility, to go to everyone, everywhere and bring them the good news of Jesus. Help us to do it we pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
