Greetings and thank you once again for the opportunity to come to you and spend these few moments in the word and prayer. This week, we are talking about sowing and reaping. We have looked at certain scriptures from the Old Testament, of course, there are many more scriptures we can look at, but we are just touching on few scriptures during the course of this week. Today, I want to look at a New Testament scripture, in fact the very words of our Lord Jesus. In Luke chapter 6, verse 38, He said, ‘Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”’ This is another way of stating the law of sowing and reaping and these are the very words of our Lord Jesus. He said, you give. When you give something, it is leaving your hand and life, it is going out of your life, but it is not leaving your life in the sense that it is something that Jesus said, it will come back to you, it will be multiplied back to you. He says, give and it will be given back to you. Every time you give, you know in your heart that there is a God in heaven, He has given His promise that as you release you will receive. Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, man will give into your bosom. God will cause people to pour back into your life. How God does it? That is up to Him. When He does it? It is up to Him. What kind of things will be poured back into your life? It is up to Him but the principle is, you give and He said, it will be poured back into your life. With the level of generosity you give, that level of generosity will be poured back into your life. In Acts chapter 20, the apostle Paul, he quotes Jesus and talks about his own life, he says in verse 34, ‘these hands have provided for my necessities’ and in verse 35, he said, ‘I labor and support the weak’ and he said, ‘remember the words of Jesus, it is more blessed to give than to receive.’ It is a greater blessing when you give than receive. There is a blessing every time you give and that blessing comes on your life. So, employ the law of giving, sowing and reaping. You be generous to other people. When you give, it’s not something to think you have lost something. You never lose when you give because it is a blessing when you give, you are more blessed when you give because Jesus said, it will be poured back into your life. So, think about this, that giving is your sowing and every time you sow, there is a harvest coming and the harvest is always a multiplication, it is an overflow that is coming back into your life. Let’s pray, Lord Jesus, we ask that you will help us renew our mind to your word and to live by this, knowing that when we give, there is an overflow coming back, there is a blessing being poured out on our lives according to what you’ve taught us, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
