Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and thank you for joining us for an episode on Living Supernaturally. We have been looking at truth and learning about what the bible says about truth. For our devotion today, we are going to be looking at Ephesians chapter 6, verse 14 that tells us that we need to be girded with truth. Ephesians chapter 6, verse 14, ‘Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.’ This is a familiar passage for all of us and in Ephesians chapter 6, Paul describes the spiritual armor that every believer should wear. We know that every piece of this armor symbolizes an aspect of our Christian life and it is designed to protect us from the attacks of the enemy. We know that all the pieces of this armor belong to God and it comes from Him. It is interesting that it starts with the first piece which is the belt of truth. We find that it is an essential foundation upon which the rest of the armor rests. The belt of truth is the first part of the armor that is listed in that passage because we know without truth, we are lost and the schemes of the devil, the attack of the enemy can quickly overpower us. Paul is giving us the image of a Roman soldier in battle. The belt of a Roman soldier as Paul describes is not like the usual belt we wear at our time, a thin belt; but it is a thick, heavy belt with a huge metal band that is in front of it and the belt is what holds the other weapons and swords in place. The belt is what holds the other pieces of the armor. Without the belt, a soldier would be vulnerable and his pieces of armor would be incomplete. So, similarly, for the believer, truth acts as the belt in our spiritual armor. It provides us protection as well as support. The belt of truth is a crucial piece of defensive armor that guards our inmost being in the battle against the enemies lies and the deceptions that come against us. Without that belt of truth, we are also vulnerable to the attack of the enemy, lies and deception, doubts that the enemy brings about. The belt of truth is what holds everything in its place in our lives ensuring that our spiritual defenses are strong and effective. We are to actively lay hold of the truth and use it. The belt of truth is what protects us and prepares us for the battle that is part of each one of our lives. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you have given us truth by which we gird ourselves against the attack of the enemy. We pray that we will know your truth, what the truth of God’s word says about us, our situations, our lives, our salvation and may we hold that strongly and fight the enemy against his deceptions. Thank you that you have given us this armor to live by, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
