Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Gideon (Daily Devotional)

by Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Welcome back, thank you for being with us today on today’s daily devotional. Today, we are taking some time to study about the lives of some of the people in the bible and how God called them, dealt with them and these are lessons for us as New Testament believers to follow and learn from. Some of the lessons are this is what I need to do and some are this is what I should not do. Today, we are looking at the life of Gideon, this is in Judges chapter 6, verses 12 onwards, ‘And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!” We see that Gideon is in an oppressive environment because of the Midianites, they come and they attack and they take away the cattle, burn all the crops. So, the children of Israel are being oppressed and Gideon is facing that, he is in fact, threshing wheat in a covered area in the wine press for the fear of the Midianites. We see here that the angel of the Lord comes and it is a strange greeting, he says, ‘The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!’ In verse 13, Gideon responds and says, ‘if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about.’ He says, if the Lord is with us, why are things not happening, where is the power of God displayed, I don’t see it in my life and he is in an oppressive kind of environment and maybe you could be asking that same question. When we read through and the Lord declares, you are a new creation and more than a conqueror and our question is where are all the miracles and power of God and the promise? The angel’s response is this, there is no explanation, in verse 14 we see, ‘the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” We learn something here that the word of God, the supernatural, awesome power of God that doesn’t change. So also, the call of God, the Lord’s commissioning, the Lord is saying, have I not sent you? There are no explanations, there is no other reasons given, the Lord is saying, ‘go, you will save Israel from the hand of the Midianites, have I not sent you?’ Gideons’ response to that is another question, ‘O my Lord, how can I save Israel?’ The reasons are this, ‘I’m my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” He is focusing on his inabilities, lack of skill and family background and all that he doesn’t possess but the Lord is very patient with him and he asks for certain signs and the Lord confirms those signs and the Lord enables him to take up the call. Maybe today, you are in that same place and saying where are all the miracles? But the call of God, word of God and power of God doesn’t change and if we will step into the call, we will see the hand of God unfold in our lives. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for this day and the call that you have for us. Yes, we have so many questions, where are the miracles and the supernatural power that we read about but you are faithful and you will confirm the declaration of your word with signs, wonders and miracles. You do not change with time or difficulty so we ask let there be a display of your Holy Spirit power in and through our lives as we step into the call that you have called us with, we thank you, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
