Daily Devotional church in Bangalore

Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Welcome friends, thank you for joining. We are talking about some of the prayers that we can pray for us as the church body/ family. There is a passage in Colossians chapter 1, verses 9 to 10, it says, ‘For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.’ This is the prayer that Paul prayed for the Colossian church and we can take parts of this prayer and make it our own. We see that it was Paul’s desire that every believer, especially since he is praying it for the Colossian church, that they would understand the purpose of God for their lives, they would have the knowledge of God and would live that life and fulfill God’s purpose for them and that is what he is praying. So, we too, can use these same scriptures to pray for ourselves. We can pray that we too would be filled with the knowledge of God’s will and that we would know what God wants us to do, how He wants us to do it and we have the scriptures/ word of God given to us that reveals to us what is in God’s heart for us. We have the Holy Spirit who is enabling us to know what God wants us to do. We can know the will of God for our lives and this is something we can pray for ourselves. We can also pray that we will be filled with all wisdom and spiritual understanding that comes from God. We can pray that we may walk worthy of the Lord as His children and those who are redeemed of the Lord and those who are called to live a life of victory, an overcoming life. We can pray and say, please enable us to do that well, that is a prayer we can pray. We can pray that we would be fruitful in every good work. Going back to the passage in John chapter 15, we know that the Lord Jesus taught us that He is the vine and we are the branches. The branches are the fruit bearing part of the vine and so, God is expecting is to be fruitful, He expects every single believer to be fruitful in whatever He has called us to do and that is a prayer we can make and say, help us to be fruitful in our lives, help us as a believing community to be fruitful. Of course, in that passage Paul prays that the church community may increase in the knowledge of God, that is another desire that we have that we know and understand God better. Even as we pray these prayers for ourselves as a church body, one thing will happen is that as Paul wrote, may Christ be formed in you. He was laboring to see the Lord Jesus formed in every believer, this is in Galatians chapter 4, verse 19. The Lord will cause us to grow in Him, develop in Him, mature in Him, to become more like Jesus to represent Him well. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for these prayers that are in scripture for us that we can take as a reference and declare them over our own lives. As we speak your word upon ourselves, we believe things are changing, we are being transformed, we are moving from strength to strength and glory to glory, we give you thanks and praise, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
