Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and thank you for joining us once again to learn and meditate on God’s word. We have come to the end of this series on knowing about truth and for our meditation today, we are going to be looking at freedom in the truth. Reading from scripture from John chapter 8, verses 31 to 32, ‘Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’ This phrase which you have probably heard many very times, the truth will set you free’ is often used in some academic circles, it actually advocates a sense of academic freedom and the importance of education. This phrase, the truth will set you free is often taken out of context and understood to mean that knowing truths in general brings freedom. However, that isn’t at all what Jesus is talking about. Earlier in this context, Jesus was affirming His authenticity and His divinity. This verse is a reminder to all of us as believers that we must abide in Christ and when we abide in Christ, apart from Him we cannot do anything. A believer who is not abiding in Christ will not bear any fruit. A person who doesn’t rely on the power of Jesus to save him is doomed. If we are left to our own works of salvation, it can leave us weak, frustrated, deceived and confused. Therefore, it talks about how when we abide in Christ, the truth of Jesus is what sets us free. It sets us free form the slavery of sin, not just from our past, present and future sins but the sins we are currently battling with on a day-to-day basis. The truth that sets us free is the victory that Jesus has won for us and the victory that is there only in Jesus, only He can cause us to be freed from our daily sins. When we confess and repent of our sins daily, as scripture says in 1 John chapter 1, verse 9, ‘He is faithful and just not only to forgive us and cleanse us, but also to set us free.’ It is through the work of Jesus, through what He has done for us one the cross, that we have our freedom. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we praise and thank you that the truth of what you have done for us on the cross, of the sin that you have taken away for us, the salvation that we have in you is the truth that will lead us into all freedom. May we never move away from this knowledge. Thank you for buying for us eternity, in Jesus’s name we pray, Amen.
