Daily Devotions for Spirit Filled Living

God's Word is spiritual food and nourishment. The Bible uses many metaphors: bread, milk, meat, food, water, honey, seed, rain, light, lamp, gold, sword, etc. for itself. God's Word is the basis for our faith. It is God's power at work in our lives. As you receive God's Word expect to receive wisdom and guidance. Expect to be healed, delivered, transformed. Expect God's supernatural power to work miracles in your life. His Word never return void or unfulfilled.

Each daily devotion is about five minutes in duration. We have intentionally developed the daily devotions around a weekly theme. So there are seven days of daily devotions that focus on the theme and bring you insight, understanding and revelation from the Bible. Each week's theme is listed as a series. So you can listen to the current week's daily devotions or go to any previous theme/series that speaks to your present need.

You can watch the video or download and listen to the audio. Almost all daily devotions end with a prayer. You can access these from this page as well as from the Home page of this website.

All our daily devotions are also available on our free church App for you to listen on your mobile device. Download our free church App from App or Google Play stores. Search for "All Peoples Church Bangalore".

Shalom and welcome to our episode of Living Supernaturally, where we learn and meditate and look into God’s word for us. In our series this week, we have been looking at the fear of the Lord. We have been looking at some of the benefits that we have as we fear the Lord. We saw yesterday, of how we have a strong confidence and a security as we fear the Lord.

Today, we look at the fear of the Lord being a fountain of life, reading from scripture, Proverbs chapter 14, verse 27, ‘The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.’ This verse, we can look at in two parts. The first part talks about the fear of the Lord being a fountain of life. So, in the natural, what is a fountain? A fountain is a source from which you get water continuously. It something that is not measured, it is not rationed, it is free and there is a continual flow of water. The fountain of life is described in this verse today, it is a perpetual, continuous, uninterrupted and a lasting supply of good things, that make for abundant living. What is that which provides for this fountain? We read that it is the fear of the Lord that gives us that continuous, perpetual, uninterrupted flow of good things for us for abundant living. So, when we fear the Lord, and hold Him in reverence, He Himself becomes the source from which all of abundant life follows. The second part of the verse talks about turning away from snares. The word for snares refers to the noose that is placed to trap, so some of the parallels that we can see here is, it is paralleled to our problem with sin. Our desires draw us towards things that can easily entrap us, damage, and destroy us but often we cannot shake these fleshly lusts of the world enough to keep it away because we are so blinded by sin but that is where the fear of the Lord becomes a life-giving fountain to us. It keeps us away from the snares of death, and the snares of evil. So, the fear of the Lord is the honor that we have for Him and His word. It is that willingness to respond to the Holy Spirit, when He nudges us or prompts us about something that we are not doing right, it is the fear of the Lord that creates in us an obedience to do what pleases Him. This becomes that fountain of life that keeps us away from our fleshly desires. When we build our intimacy and reverence for the Lord, it creates in us an abundant living and also it keeps us away from anything that entices us from death. So, remember that the fear of the Lord is the fountain of life, is a place where you can have that abundant living because He is the one who keeps us away from things that ensnare us.

Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you, that as we fear you, you have promised that we have the fountain of life, you have also promised that we will be spared or that we will keep away the snares that are there to entrap us. Thank you, Father, that as we revere you, the desires that we have for things of this world diminish. May we live strong and bold in this fear of the Lord, we ask all these things in your matchless name, Amen.
