Greetings and thank you for joining us today and giving us the opportunity to come to you and spend these few moments in God’s word and prayer. This week, we’ve been talking about God in the workplace and just looking at different things concerning the workplace. Today, I want to bring our attention to the fact that God can give us favor in the workplace. Why do I need favor? Well, favor is going to put you ahead of others. The favor of God is going to give you opportunities that may not be given to others, is going to give you access to things, resources, people, places that others may not have access to. The favor of God is so valuable and important even in our places of work. I want to encourage you to believe God for favor that people will look at you with favor, treat you with favor, they will handle things to you out of favor. A great example we see in Daniel chapter 6, verses 1 to 4, it was a typical workplace scenario, it tells us Daniel was there with 120 others under the king Darius and there were three governors and Daniel was one of them. But the people were trying to pull him down, that is so common in the workplace. Some other people are jealous of you and trying to put you down. In that situation, Daniel excelled, he did good work by the empowering of God, God blessed him and gave him favor. So much so that when people tried to put him down, he just went up higher because of the favor of God. Proverbs chapter 3 verses 3 and 4 says, ‘Let not mercy and truth forsake you; Bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, And so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.’ Psalm chapter 5, verse 12, ‘For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.’ The bible tells us, you just keep yourself in a place of mercy and truth, be compassionate, walk in integrity. What will happen? If you are walking in compassion and integrity, you will be surrounded with favor. God will give you favor and high esteem from all other people around you, He will surround you with favor like a shield. Favor is your defense and protects you. When others are sent off, the favor of God is your defense. Expect favor in your place of work. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for divine favor, that the favor of God be on each of us in our places of work. We thank you for the unusual things you do for us because of favor, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
